Welding a v-band on turbine housing

Thanks for sharing Rob, I have trouble steadying myself while welding Ill have to try bracing my leg, I brace an arm or 2 when able but still feel more unstable than I would like. Thanks for the tip.

looks good to me . I use to weld for a power generation plant among other things . I had no idea what the housing was made of . I guess you used some 316 or some thing similar . Thanks for the video

Great video. But I got a side. Question for ya. I have a 2000 dodge 3500 that was missing the front right axle, hub assembly, And rotor. I grabbed all the parts of a 95 and they didn't fit. So I ordered a hub assembly from rock auto. And grabbed an axle from a 98.5 and it's too short. Did they change axles on the 98.5 to 2000?

Lol, i'm in the middle of swapping the cheap ass ebay tubed hot side to cast manifolds and and an old up pipe off a 6.0 powerstroke on my ls camaro, Look's like shit but cheap n easy, but on the exhaust manifolds, they are cast steel not iron so do i gotta still preheat same as cast iron and using a tig?
