I see a bunch of porosity. That needs to be UT’d or die pen tested. Because it’s cast aluminum it should have been preheated first before welding on it. Also the grade of the base aluminum and the filler rod has to be compatible to prevent cold cracking. They probably weren’t because of the porosity trapped in the weld

You should never ever use an abrasive grinding disc whilst welding aluminium/alloy products, first rule in this type of welding as the grit that comes off these whelks foul the weld and make it structurally unsafe!! 😎

It looks like a transmission maybe a dq200 the mounting place for the transmission mounting. They have too drill new holes and make new threads again. I don't believe the shavings got inside the box

Insert the copper rod into the screw hole and start welding. Finally, if you pull out the copper rod, the hole position can be accurately reproduced.

Using air tools around aluminum is a no-no. The oil will play hell with your welds. You also need to clean everything spic and span with MEK first and then Preheat the entire area with a rosebud torch
