I want to get into pipeline welding but I have a few questions and it would be great if you could answer them. 1. Why do you have to supply your own rig 2. Is it better to be in a union 3. Why do pipeline welders make so much 4. Is there a ketch to the job or are you getting paid for your skill 5. Is there a lot of work out there in pipeline welding 6. Is it true, do some companies pay a bonus if the weld passes x-ray 7. If I have all my certifications, will I still start as a helper or as long as I have a rig can I start as a welder 8. What do I do if I get out of school with all my certifications and I don't have a rig. Will a company supply one or will I have to be a helper until I buy a rig. Thanks. Again

Hi there. So glad you found us then. We look forward to doing more pipeline lifestyle videos soon. I (kayla) have been around trailers all my life and find 5th wheels much easier to maneuver and they for sure pull smoother in my opinion. They do have great options now though for travel trailers so I think they are doable, but the fifth wheel is our preference.

Had 2 jump out & throw a 4x4 behind the rear wheel & sometimes, get out & chase my truck & hope to god that I could stop it!!! I couldn't tell from watching the vid, if your rig has a standard trans or an automatic. This may be a dumb question, but if it's an automatic, is it an Alison or some other brand? Alison makes automatics for the big 18-wheeler tractors, so their units should be tough as hell. Just curios. Beautiful truck, man.
