Back purge is what they call that gadget. A tree is when it’s just the same block mounted on a table but the difference is that a tree has argon flowing thru the block nog a tube as a back purge setup. 👍

Thanks for the great info. I've got the big Heavy Hitter tig torch too. Do you find it too bulky for sanitary tube, or should I struggle on? What gas cup do you suggest for sanitary tube? Thanks again, Sparky

Q: in a food processing plant what schedule pipes would I be coming across... Q: I'm thinking of buying a welding machine what would be the maximum amperage I would need the machine to be to practice
@DarlingtonFarm4 жыл бұрын
So sanitary tube is thinner wall than schedule pipe. Its all .065" wall and I almost never go over 80 amps. most tube is welded at 45-65 amps depending on who is doing the weld

I got some 416 stainless schedule 40 scraps that came from a water softening plant from my welder friend and he told me not to walk the cup on the root pass and attempt to back fill the root and that I could walk the cup on the cap weld and he explained that it is because the water is very salty so what your saying sounds spot on does this sound right for schedule 40 416 stainless? Thanks for the videos.

I think the idea is you put in less heat and don't cook the metal as much. sounds reasonable to me

How did you learn or get into sanitary welding? This looks like rewarding work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge

Is that purge plug set only good for sanitary or could it be used for socket weld fittings
@DarlingtonFarm5 жыл бұрын
I have used it for sked 10 and 80 pipe before works ok

How do you manage to snap out so quickly on that machine? Every time I try and snap out on my lift-tig inverter I get a massive arc length before it extinguishes...

If you work for your self its really not necessary if you do good work. Now That might not be true in all industries, But in what I do its not needed.
