@Pumpkingilmour He won’t, can’t you see he absolutely hates working on this old junk. Could have done 3 modern cars in the same time. Even his 720s which was A LOT of work went smoother. Old cars are just not worth it unless its something extremely valuable or unique which then leads to a very high value when done. This thing will either crash or be scrapped because its a death trap.

@@pieterverboven4853 Agreed. Plus he is way out of his league on this one. He isn't a mechanic.....he's a frame guy. He barely knows how engines or cooling systems....electrical etc even work. All these videos of him farting around are just him avoiding facing the real problem....that he can't figure out how to actually complete the car. Or even get it running for that matter. I hope when he finally scraps this one....or somehow pretends he's finished it by barely getting it running and painting it that he's learned something. Know what you know and know what you don't know.

The 8.8 has the most aftermarket support and is one of if not the most widely used rear end ever. The 8.8 comes in so many different widths and the most important thing to check is if you have a true center diff or offset dif. You can triangulated four link coil over, four link coil over with watts link, or straight 4 link with leaf springs or panhard bar. I would go watts link 1st, second choice is triangulated 4 link and last would be leaf spring or panhard bar.

Use Moser street axles and a Ford 9 inch. Moser will make the axles to your length specifications. Pick your wheel and tire combo and offset do the math and cut and weld the housing to your specs and size the axles accordingly. I'm sure you could get a sponsor to provide you with the drop out 3rd member or find a good used one preferably a locker. Use a Ford aluminum driveshaft. The best ones are from old Police Interceptors (Crown Victoria's). I had this setup in my old Vega and it is bullet proof. I was running a 430 HP Chevy.

I think you’ll be really happy with a stock NA engine. 400hp is no joke in such a small car like that. I know the Holley tunes itself but find a good dyno tuner to tune and get the mist out of it. Everything is looking great. These types of builds don’t happen overnight. Plus going NA just think of the time and money you’ll save there. Personally I would stick a VMP charger or someone similar on it if I were to go non NA.

Motor was rebuilt to: 10:1 pistons, 0.30 over, 0.60 plained off the heads, stock valves, springs to 6000 rpm, Fordmotorsport cam.: 280/290 duration @ 0.50 lift. Rearend was replaced with: 3.40/1. Cam reached max HP at 5500 rpm with speed at about 130mph.... With 4.10/1 would go 110 mph at redline. Rearend: pick a ratio where freeway rpm is less than 2800 rpm. Unless this is a drag/town, non-freeway build..... M2cents.. : )

Great to hear that you're interior is coming together. Maybe for the gauge cluster you go fully digital with a push button ignition system which would look sick and modern. As for the rear suspension I think solid rear axle is the only option I don't think they make custom Independent Rear suspension for this mustang. But if they do its a intricate and tough one to do. In addition it does give good handling. The Ford 8.8 rear end is the main choice as for the differential gear maybe go 3.73 or higher maybe 4.10 gears. Depends, because one has good acceleration, fuel efficiency and the other ratio is vice versa.

If you plan on doing a lot of racing with it, go with the 9 inch. If you want a good street car and occasionally race it, an 8.8 will probably work fine. There’s plenty of videos on KZbin on how to convert a Ford Explorer 8.8. Find one with LSD and disc brakes, shorten the one side to center the pumpkin and you’ll have a nice set up for the street.
