Great informative video. Thanks for calling out the socket sizes. Only thing to add is to loosen lower control arm bolts so it doesn't tear the rubber bushings. Then tighten them up when you put the weight back on them so they are relaxed at ride height. I'm excited to buy one of these kits.

What’s the current way to upgrade to a 4x4 conversion on the Express Vans? Is it a trade in process or is there a route that we can take and purchase the lift now and swap in the transfer case, front diff, axles and all parts in 2 stages? Thanks for all the information you’ve filmed over the years. Been going back and forth from old to new to old and back again on all your content.

With this spindle set up, do the front wheels stick out farther? Not only are the spindles taller they look thicker. where the four 15mm bolts attach it looks thicker. if this is the case. the front wheels would track wider than the rear wheels.
@WeldtecDesigns5 жыл бұрын
Yes they are .750 wider per side. They are actually the same height as stock ones.
@mandogfish74185 жыл бұрын
@@WeldtecDesigns well I dont want my front wheels to stick out farther than my rears. I would prefer to have all four wheels symmetrical. What is your solution to correct this? Wheel spacers for the rear? Wider rims? I'm limited when it comes to this due to having a sliding right cargo door. If the wheel sticks out too far from the quarter panel it will interfere with the door opening fully.

I want to lower my Chevy Express in the front 2" Is there a kit or do I have to cut springs?
@WeldtecDesigns4 жыл бұрын
We dont have a kit and not sure if there is one, but before you cut springs i would look online to see if they have any lowering springs you can buy. Cutting springs will give you a super bouncy ride.
@morley38104 жыл бұрын
Express Printing these vans ride pretty close to the extended bump stops already. I think you would need to address that as well if reducing ride height. Now...maybe Weldtec could design a LOWERING spindle???
@morley38104 жыл бұрын
So, I'm out in the garage installing these spindles RIGHT NOW. Nice stuff, but I wish you would have shown how much of a bitch the top ball joint can be to get back tightened up...It just keeps spinning and I can't figure out a way to hold it still. Too tight a space to get a socket and impact gun on, you have to use a wrench. It's kicking my ass right now.
@morley38104 жыл бұрын
Haha, yeah I figured it out. The keys were better light, and a ratcheting box end wrench. The spindles really are a work of art. Nice melding of welding and machining. And BEEFY!

Is the ride or factory suspension adversely affected at all, with this kit? Example, I once bought what I thought was a full lowering kit for a car once, only to find out later that I should have also bought offset bushings for the rack and pinion to correct "bump steer", and caster camber adjusting plates for shock towers, because they correct more adjustment for proper alignment. I was disappointed by suspension kit and the sales people for not properly informing me of this.

@sergioramirez9785 жыл бұрын
So other companies will sell you a 2" lift with U bolts blocks and coil spring spacers for the front, for a bout $300, this kit right here has 2 spindles, 2 overlay leaf springs and the fox shocks more over the other kits. So for these extra parts the price jumps $2300????? A rough country 6" kit for any pick up truck is is half that, how do you justify this insane price?
@WeldtecDesigns5 жыл бұрын
Very easily...... They are machined and constructed and welded in the USA buy workers who make a good wage. I bet you you messaged this from an smart phone but why?, when you could have a flip phone for way less........ Thanks for watching and we look forward to selling you a quality lift kit in the future......
@sergioramirez9785 жыл бұрын
Actually I replied from a desktop computer from work while I was on break. So I respect the fact that the spindles are made and engineer in the USA and that you’re employing Americans to do so. Instead of whining about your price you just gave me a really good business idea, after researching the internet I found you’re the only company that makes express/savanna lift kits, probably the reason you can charge what you do for your kits.

@WeldtecDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Well it's obviously not back yard rigged if the price is otherwise lol We haven't had any problems so far and we've done hundreds of vans. 👍 A zip tie doesn't justify the build quality of the components that are going to make your van ride great!
@johnocean14454 жыл бұрын
Weldtec Designs agree it doesn’t justify build quality but does provide for a weak spot / hazard in the design otherwise the manufacturer of the vehicles would have just zip tied the brake lines instead of brackets for the lines.
