Welke noodradio / crisis radio moet ik kiezen? Eentje met DAB+ of juist eentje met AM radio?

Een wat langer verhaal over de verschillende modellen radio's met opwindhendel en/of zonnepaneel. Met of zonder DAB+ digitale radio.

wat het eerste niet meer werkt bij een ramp is het DAB en GSM netwerk. De analoge netwerken volgen daarna.

Yes, you are absolutely right. I would recommend to also have a small (cheap) SW receiver on AA batteries in the house...

Gezien het hele DAB+ verhaal, welke Sangean zou jij in 2024 adviseren: DAB+ of AM/FM?. Uitgaande dat hij dienst moet doen als 'nood' radio?

Voor nood zou ik het liefst alles hebben. Ik adviseer een goede DAB+/FM radio van Sangean die je ook als dagelijkse radio kunt gebruiken. De MMR-99dab of de MMR-88dab. En als AM bijvoorbeeld een hele simpele SR-35 bijvoorbeeld. www.radiowinkel.com/search/?search=sr-35

@@radiowinkel ja precies die modellen pakken natuurlijk zowel DAB+ als (meer gebruikt in noodsituaties)FM? Een simpele AM zou dan voldoende als toevoeging moeten zijn. Bedankt! Ik ga dit nog overwegen en zal je website dan bezoeken .Sangean biedt het meeste, maar heeft ook t prijskaartje. Mocht er een actie komen hoor ik het graag. Fijne dag

Zeer zeker! Meer dan ooit zelfs. Ben net terug van een rondleiding in hun fabriek en kantoor. Echt waanzinnig die kwaliteitscontrole en manier van werken. Zeer hoge standaarden!

AM..? Dat is al jaren uit de lucht ... Misschien een idee voor de overheid om dat als noodvoorziening / zender weer in de lucht te brengen.. Koop maar een simpel FM ontvangertje met voldoende gangbare batterijen...! DAB kenmerkt zich door een slecht ontvangst , is meestal duurder en en heeft nauwelijks meerwaarde...

AM is erg zinvol bij nood. Want ik verwacht dat er (dan) buitenlandse zenders actief kunnen zijn. Engelse, Franse, Duitse... FM is alleen landelijk interessant. Om naar Radio 1 te luisteren bijvoorbeeld. Dus ik adviseer voor echte nood een AM / FM ontvangertje.

@@joszoet4003 Met een beetje redelijke AM ontvanger kun je best nog wat aan. Maar wat ik bedoel: als het echt fout gaat in Europa kunnen er AM zenders opnieuw worden opgestart en dan is het fijn dat je die ook nog aan kan. Met een FM ontvanger: geen kans.

The emergency radios with AM are probably not what you want in Europe. Germany has stopped broadcasting AM altogether. And some other countries, too. FM is going out of service in the near future, too. It should have been stopped in 2006 in Germany (I think), but it was delayed. Therefore I think the only valid emergency radio options for Europe are FM/DAB+ Radios. And maybe a cheap AM radio to try to get some radio senders from further away. But local information will only be available on FM/DAB+.

DAB+ and "availability" in the same sentence? That's my kind of humor. LOL seriously AM and FM are still more reliable and widespread than the digital because both transmit a lot stronger and are far more usable than DAB+ that only really works with direct line of sight to the broadcast towers, who transmit the signal so weak it barely penetrates the walls of a house properly. Once Digital radio reception is having problems, you hear absolute ear-cancer inducing glitch garbage or absolutely nothing at all while AM and FM still can be heard through the noise. The digital radio lobby desperately wants to push this outdated and impractical digital radio crap because money. This is the ONLY reason they wanna turn of FM instantly. Don't fall for this marketing shill. FM and AM are still the far better solutions (especially since there's FM and AM transmitters too for local broadcasts) and you can always listen to your neighbor countries that still run AM stations. In fact it's even better to have a radio that also has Shortwave. The only ones who think using DAB+ is making sense, are those marketing shills of the Digital Radio lobby. Especially because digital radio (just like digital terrestrial TV) does not have the same universal standard in ever european country. And that clustering is done deliberately, to separate people and countries even more from communication with their neighbors.

@@KRAFTWERK2K6 Well I'm talking about the situation in Germany. In most cases the emergency will not be a global problem. In a global disaster long range information will be interesting at first, but become less important after a few days. For example it is good to know, that Europe is affected but not the USA or Africa and Help might be under way. But after that there is little to no value in more information, as the local problems will need attention (food, water, shelter).Therefore I would argue one should have a radio which can receive FM and DAB+, as this is what the radio stations in Germany are sending at. I want to know, if there are any points providing food/rations or warmth in my local area. Other countries will be different, if there are still senders in AM in Germany there are none. Even knowing, that in South Germany there are shelters has does not affect me in north Germany, as the roads will probably be clogged and I have no fast route getting there and when I arrive it might have changed already. In fact, I would look for older AM/FM radios from the 70ies or 80ies with battery power but nothing too portable as they do have better antenna.
