Hi sigma 30mmf1.4 Can Fujifilm 50mm f2 be compared in terms of image quality, detail and sharpness? What would you recommend for a similar price to the Fujifilm 50mm f2? Is Fuji XT20 the right choice for mainly portrait and street photography? thanks..

Hey! Honestly, I'd say image quality is second when it comes to choosing your lens in this situation. A 30mm on your Fuji XT20 will be more like a 50mm focal length lens while the 50mm will be more like a 70mm. This is because the crop factor since the XT20 isn't a full frame camera. If you're looking to do strictly portraits the Fuji 50mm will be a good option bit might be more zoomed in then you're expecting. If you're looking to shoot street photography and/or portraits I would recommend the 30mm. Most of my portraits and street are shot around the 50mm focal length and for you to get that you will need to get a 30mm lens and not the 50mm. Love my CBR500R. Nice shots with the 30mm f/1.4, I have the older EF version and I love it. Been comtemplating one for my G9 in M4/3 mount.

30mm is by far my favorite focal length and my most used. Stay tuned, just bought a CBR600rr today!

@@raymuise3838, nice, you should do a comparison video. I love the low end torque of the 500 but even with full bolt-ons and ECU tune, it's still a tad slower than a CBR650F and the power really runs out after 8k RPM.

VILTROX option. Sigma 30mm works the best I have 17-50mm too i have xl hands i like the size. I also have sigma 18-35mm and 10-20mm they all hunt when focussing. My sigma 30mm 1.4 works best. Instant focus.

Hey Kiki! I was shooting raw and probably at F1.4 - F1.6, ISO 100 and I am unsure of the shutter speed. For most of my model shoots/portraits I will shoot from F1.4 - F2.2 and the lowest ISO possible and fastest shutter speed possible.

which camera.i like nikon but the sigma 1.4 30mm for nikon is expensive.. is it better to go for sony like the a6000 and get this half of price ?

I shot this with the Sony A6000. I think all camera brands have there strong points but personally I've moved to Sony for the size and affordability. Sony has two series to go for and they usually carry the same specs besides sensor size. I would, what I've done and what I would continue to do is shoot a used and slightly older body and invest more into the lens side of things.

@@raymuise3838 yea i agree with you. because the camera i was looking to buy is the D5500 is APSC but the sigma lens for nikon its the 35mm1.4 it cost double cuz is a full frame . but they dont make APCS versions for nikon? ;/ which makes me think sony would be better? there are not many affordable lenses for nikon APCs . i wanna do the same as u i was looking at the sony a6000 its not so new but for photography looks good maybe i should go for sony

@@refugioflores2226 I think the almost equivalent for Nikon would be their 35mm F1.8, which I've owned and it is a good lens but nothing compared to the Sigma 30mm F1.4. I will be doing a review on the Sigma and including raw files to pixel peep. Stay tuned!

@@raymuise5754 yea i just saw that nikon has a 35mm 1.8 and is DX . the one you are using its also crop sensor lens right? nikon has the same sigma 30mm 1.4 but the one i saw first was the 35mm 1.4 art but thats a full frame version its double the price

@@raymuise5754 but comparing the sigma 30mm vs nikon 35mm 1.8g the 35mm 1.8g is more sharper . but u should do a comparison? between those two im deciding if i go and buy a d5500 body and 35m 1.8g or go for sony A6000 and the 30mm . the 35mm its cheaper too
