I'm a Ryanair Cabin Crew as well, based in Dublin and can tell you, as mentioned already by a colleague, this is a typical day, apart from the technical issue. Dealing with problematic passengers it's completely normal already, The big problem is that they see Ryanair as a low-cost airline, which it is, but they see the cabin crew as low cost as well and, we have passengers treating us terrible. Some of them forget that we are humans, and we aren't low-cost...

It is very sad to see your experience and I watched this video. I'm affirmative with Josh. Well-done Ryan Air..!!
@roib77812 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right, but this goes both ways ! Sometimes the cabin crews take out the frustration they receive from the kind of passengers you mentioned above, on the passengers who did noting wrong and were totally polite all along. Some of these passengers will come to the next flight already in the wrong approach. Its a snowball... Not to mention your CEO Mr. O'Leary is not really a prime example of politeness and kindness himself :)

I basically had this same experience with Ryanair quite a few years ago when I was a little kid (I'm 15 years old now), and we were bound to Bristol in UK, but the captain announced the same that the aircraft has a small technical problem and we need to divert to Luton. After that, the plane we had to take for the short trip between Luton and Bristol was right next to us. They done everything quickly, and we were airborne in a matter of 10-ish minutes. I still remember this flight, as my older brother was with me during this flight and it was his actual first flight, LOL. He was panicing how to stop me from crying and I didn't want to fly to Bristol after this with the replacement aircraft :D. Little did my 5 year old me know, that as a 15 year old, I want to become a pilot :)

Although it's fashionable to make fun of Ryanair - I like them. They admit that they are a low-cost company and have prices accordingly. They will tell you in advance exactly what the services will be, depending on what you pay for. There are much worse airlines - services the same as the cheapest Ryanair tariff and the price of 2x such.
@nauticaldreaming2 жыл бұрын
If you fly on economy on most full service carriers nowadays they give you not much more in terms of facilities, services and seating space than Ryanair does, but charge you a LOT more. So yes, this ex budget carrier snob is also taking them now because there isn't any difference.
@daapz Жыл бұрын
Back in early 2000s I used to fly Ryanair a lot. It basically enabled me to see rest of Europe within reasonable cost. 20 years later I haven't used them that much, as they quite often fly to inconvenient smaller airports, where the time and money used for transportation often offsets the money saved in the plane tickets.

I think the lavatory smoke detector only sounds on the flight deck or shows up on the cabin crew control panel. They wouldn’t want to panic the passengers by having a loud alarm blaring.
@07376441772 жыл бұрын
Nope.
@SuperJopires2 жыл бұрын
As a ryanair worker, I can confirm the smoke detectors do sound an alarm that can be heard across the cabin (from how loud it is), for safety reasons its better to have an alarm beeping for instant reaction than having to wait for the flight deck to inform (consider the busy flights and how sometimes it can take more than a few seconds to pick up the phone and on the sky that can be critial) The deal is that most of the times The smoke is not intense enough (or vapes) to actually triger the alarm. Most of the smokers I caught on board was mostly because of the smell (as we sit really close to the toilets). Funny story one time we had such quite a landing the alarmed went off from the impact.

Josh. Great post as is your usual standard, I must say! I'm very curious about the whole diversion to nearest airport/ fuel -counsciuous landing/emerg. vehicles thing and just what "was* the technical issue that forced your plane to divert, land, and you being shepherded onto another different plane to complete your journey. I just have to laugh, Josh: the two most famous lines in potentially dangerous or fatal flight scenarios 1) "Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a *small* problem with..." OR 2) "...we have a little issue that we are sorting out with the engines. no concern" (etc.) Ahem. My own fascination is with the hardware and history of commercial flight incidents and disasters. I've had wonderful flying experiences, and yet I've been on a flight where we were asked to "assume the position" (crash position) ...due to wheels not locked after takeoff. Worse yet, I lost a classmate yrs ago on NWA 255/Detroit.... HOWEVER I still love the flying life I enjoyed and am not deterred... I'll say finally, I wish you were there and then to witness my first and ONLY *first class^ flight on The Queen of The Skies, a DTW to LAX AA LuxuryLiner 747 in 1972... with incredible food, linens, service, vino and best of all a great cocktail lounge in the hump/bubble upstairs, sporting a Baldwin (electronic) Grand Piano! Wow! THAT was the incredible Golden Age of passnger travel and flight, to me.... I'm so addicted to this world of commercial flight, good and bad. I can't get out today or future, but I can both relive fond memories and dream of what the great world of travel and flight is and must be like for you. You do lovely, gracious, kind and very humane vids that show such a wide variety of human nature... but you always can smile, forgive, go forward, yet be a realist and hold people accountable. Gosh, Josh: Thank You and please keep it up. You're a beautiful spirit in your channel devoted to people, passengers, more...

Just one suggestion, if you're planning to fly to Cuba: on the inbound flight take one of the european airlines available (there are very few currently) in economy with as many luggage as you can squeeze on your flight. This way you may help with your experience to those Cubans and their families or friends who inevitably fly to Cuba with tons of luggage. And then, on return, fly Cubana (luggage allowance on return isn't so relevant).
