I had a drunk neighbor in Emirates economy class recently, being in economy it was even worse, dude was leaning on me and shouting in my ear, then getting angry at me for not being able to answer his incomprehensible questions, the emirates flight attendant was superb at dealing with it, he even offered for me to move seats which I politely declined because of the extra legroom my seat had, but the flight attendant sobered him up and at one point even took him to the gally to calm him down, professionalism at its finest

@@NikoBelliceditzHaha no way, I also had a drunk passenger experience on Emirates as well. He was weirdly loud and seemed like he couldn’t sit still. On approach, he got up to leave for the bathroom when the aircraft was only a few miles away from touchdown. He was shouted at to immediately take his seat by cabin crew. Then after landing, he got up again to use the bathroom which of course he was told to sit down again. He was talking to everyone around him when they were minding their own business. I was only 1 row behind him to his left, I didn’t make eye contact just in case haha.

As a former senior for 24yrs on a major ME carrier, the moment an intoxicated passenger was discovered, there were only 2 outcomes. If said drunk passenger was displaying these actions, before boarding, i.e. during check-in (after being informed by groundstaff), they were approached and questioned to determine their level of intoxication using the 'traffic light guide'. Once evaluated, they would either be denied boarding or if their condition warranted to be accepted for travel, then all service of alcohol would cease. This was explained to the passenger(s) then passed on to the flight deck. Problem solved.

Not really, nerves can inhibit the intoxication while in air. To get properly knocked out you need to binge liqour (less liquid to have to piss) at the airport up until a point (leaving enough time to piss before boarding) then down diazepam within 30-60 minutes before take off, it should kick in properly when seated and you can be in a semi-coma until landing if the flight is shorter than 6 hours.

I had a similar experience on a couple of Singapore to London flights in business class (on SQ). First one was a guy who got so drunk and threw up. It's the only time I ever saw an SQ cabin crew losing it a bit - she apologised to me and said the guy was a "total asshole". He was in the window seat and I was in the adjacent aisle mid seat. Lovely. Second incident was far more fun - yet not ;) As you know, the original SQ A380 business class sights were stupidly wide. A girl seemingly met a total stranger in the lounge before the flight and they got friendly after several drinks. After boarding, she would some and sit in his seat (both skinny folks !) and as the lights went down (night flight), they were getting VERY friendly. Couple of visits from the cabin crew didnt put her off and she was forceably removed back to her own seat, as things were almost descending from friendly to 18+ porn lol. Still the best airline and crew ever - in my opinion.

With reference to the AF boarding, what I cannot understand is that an airline will board a particular flight at the same time every day, and yet they often never get the boarding right. You learn from your mistakes (allegedly) but they - sometimes - never seem to learn. I boarded a long-haul flight (no name - the flight itself was delightful) from LHR recently, and it was rather chaotic. I checked Twitter, and the airline had been notified regularly about this very flight by unhappy passengers.

I think sometimes the crew just get tired of trying to herd uncooperative passengers. I once flew China Airlines lax to phuket via taiwan. At lax when they announced business class boarding EVERYBODY queued up. it was complete madness. It may be that despite years of trying they realize the passengers can't get it right and there's no point in making the effort.

The flight was in transit and the purser asked me to help him carrying this guy out of the plane. What a funny situation. I must say here that I'm surprised Air France served such a low quality meal. My Mom was on a flight from JFK when it was still Idlewild, going to Miami for a friend’s wedding. The guy in front of her was smashed and got up, stumbled up the aisle yelling if anyone knew the score of a ball game. A man tried to block his way and the drunk guy kicked him in groin, causing him to fall on a woman who was eating her meal. He was stopped by the flight engineer trying to get into the cockpit. He wanted the crew to radio NY to see who won! By then, three men wrestled him into a seat, belted him in with the seatbelt and belted his arms behind him with loaned pants belts. They made an emergency landing near D.C., Annapolis, maybe? Four MPs got on, arrested him, returned the belts, and drove him off in a military vehicle. The entire flight, it was pouring rain and so much turbulence, Mom and lots of others kept asking for puke bags. They got to Miami nearly two hours late because they had to keep flying around storms. I remember riding in the car with Grandpa to pick Mom up from Grand Central Station. She cancelled her return flight in favor of the train! Mom passed this year, age 98. It was a family joke to never board a plane with Mom because something bizarre always happened. Another time a young man had smuggled his pet lizard in his carryon, took it out mid-flight and it escaped. Pandemonium broke out with people either trying to catch it or get away from it. Mom hated lizards, as in lizard phobia, so naturally, it ran right past her foot. The creature was captured, no extra landing required, but I’m sure there were consequences for the owner. On yet another flight, a morbidly obese man insisted upon occupying his ticketed seat right between my parents in a row of three, so each got only half a seat. Worse yet, the man reeked of what was apparently urine. The flight attendants were “busy” every time my father tried to stop one and insist upon a seat change. The only saving grace was the short flight from Philadelphia to LaGuardia. An attendant finally stopped as they were already approaching the airport!

Most of my air trips were between 1950 and 1980. While much has changed, I am sorry to see that people under the influence of substances are still a problem. What you may not know is that, at least in the 50s and 60s, you could expect about 50% of the males on a flight to be drunk--including the pilot! Women, especially the stewardesses (aka waitresses) were always considered to be fair game for both drunken and sober men, so you were likely to see a great deal of groping and breast grabbing. The cabins were always thick with smoke from cigarettes, cigars, and pipes, the sharp smell of liquor, body odor, and urine from the often leaking toilets. Things are much better for women now--still a long way to go--so it makes me especially sad that it was a woman who was intoxicated on your flight.

I had to laugh when Josh said happy St Patrick's Day to his Irish viewers, because this video has come out about two and half months after St Patrick's Day has happened.

The first thing on my mind: Good selection of vintage champagne, 10 year or older matured cognac, the most exclusive wine from exclusive vineyards in france, french gastronomy. Must admit the man who drinks his weight in wine wasnt the first

I used to fly on air france like 10 times a year the past 15 years and katering was always average in economy, but business and première was always on top. i didnt hop on an airplane since covid ... i hope they dont suffer budget cut on katering ... You seserve a better experience in business than what you had.

I had an exceptional experience with AF last month on their A350. Food was great and so was the wine. The service was great as well. You probably had bad luck.

I prefer AF B773 in 2-3-2 configuration, rather than the cocoon 787 business class seats

Great video! Good to know about AF J Class product. One thing that isn't new is their inconsistency of service and product in any class of service. Sad!

Emily would have had a JUMBO hangover when she woke up in the morning. Wouldn't even know she was in the Maldives. I'd like to visit Sri Lanka and spend some time hanging out with the JUMBOS. Some people are really experts at messing up their holidays, and even their lives by over imbibing. Unfortunately mess up other's lives too. Even those they love.

Josh, When I flew on Air France the caterer failed to load sufficient meals on my flight and about 25 the passengers, including me where not served anything to eat.

Seeing the small section of you inside the Lily Lounge in the Maldives, took me back pre-pandemic when I was going back and forth every quarter. Every single frame of you in the Maldives was a massive nostalgia attack for me man. Keep up the good work 👌👌

At least she didn't have smelly wind every 20 minutes like the passenger next to me on a 8 hour flight. Both myself an the next seat up from me kept having to move away all night ugh

I had a similarly poor experience on AF business. Check-in sucked, lounge meh, boarding a mess, delayed due to broken plane both ways, flight service poor.

I am a cabin crew member on a national US carrier. Serving drinks to an intoxicated person is an FAA violation as it endangers the passengers and crew. This is an unsafe travels. Europe must have their own intoxicated rules. I WOULD NEVER get on a flight with such a danger! PLEASE for your own safety NEVER board your next intoxicated passenger flight. DEPLANE IMMEDIATELY !

Used to be good but the last few times I've flown with them, it was atrocious. I'm not very fussy but some of it wasn't even edible.

This is why I would never pay big money for a ticket. If I ended up next to a slosh like Emily, there would have been a huge fight, especially if she kept waking me up. I hate drunks.

I flew last month back and forth from Bejing to Paris, and it was a really pleasant flight. Even tough my friends discouraged me to book Air France, i was pleasantly surprised: Excellent wine, champagne a volonté and a good service. The food was the best i've had until now: really good nice appetizers, excellent steak (much better than in this movie) and an awesome dessert. Even tough i had my doubts, i would instantly recommend it again. The ONLY downside was the Charles-de-Gaulles airport which was an utter mess...

Haha, I was near a similar passenger on a flight to Dubai. To make things crazier it was economy and she was throwing her stuff on the aisle. One good thing was there was no need of screen-based inflight entertainment on that flight.. lol

I flew SAS from Chicago to Copenhagen on economy plus. The Polish lady next to me, opened her duty free liquor and proceeded to get wasted. The flight crew did absolutely nothing. She then spilled her drink on me. That was a long flight. 🤷♂️

Happened to us in the old days of BIMAN on a DC-10 in business. A guy insisted I should take another seat so he could sit next to my wife . Yes Crew didn’t intervene so I did. He was shown a seat at the other side of the cabin - by me. The crew gave him white wine, and eventually left the whole bottle. Turned out to be an excellent Pouilly Fumé btw. I read now that Biman is a dry airline. Maybe alcohol will disappear completely from air travel such as smoking did.
@Cooldaddio2 Жыл бұрын
I anticipate alcohol will be eliminated from onboard the airplanes. But it wont be eliminated from the airports because it brings big money to the vendors.

I flew Air France business for years, Bangkok to Mexico. I found them extreamly disappointing and the airport is dreadful. Eventually I swapped to Emirates which bizarrely was much cheaper.

Why is it that airlines so often cannot 'load and leave' on time? I would think punctuality would be their top priority after passenger safety and general service. And maybe they should screen for imbebriated passengers.

In my current and previous airline there is the traffic light system to assess intoxicated passengers and also responsible service of alcohol on board....So it is crazy the crew were avoiding dealing with her... Also, lucky european crew, 2 and 3 days layovers??? Only in my dreams would I do such a short flight with a layover
