Hi Norm, when Rolex re-did the current OP in 2020, it went from a readily-available watch to a virtually unobtanium watch. Since demand is so much greater than the supply, building a personal, friendly and ongoing relationship with an AD is imperative. Or you can get one today on the grey market, the prices have calmed down and they are not that much over RRP anymore. My 36mm OP green dial is my favorite watch in my collection, it is the only watch I've owned in my 55 years of collecting that is absolutely perfect. My AD and I are good friends and she told me it was much harder to get me the OP than it was to get my Starbucks Submariner. Best of luck!

It's a shame that you can't walk in and buy one at any AD. Rolex would sell more watches if they made more watches. And they would still make plenty - o - money doing it.

I think a few years ago you could walk in and buy an OP - but once the colorful dials came out.... none for you.

I think, if you you as a customer who should be treated like a king, practically have to beg for the opportunity to spend a lot of money, that is humiliating. Rolex doesn’t even have an official waiting list. So you are at the mercy of the seller. That’s the reason why they can stick their watches where they fit and I have fun with all the other brands. I am on a list for a Helm Vanuatu Titanium and I can always see where I am on it. Within a year I went 3000 steps upwards. I will get an email when I am on rank one. I think this is how it should work with Rolex too. 🕐⚙️🍸

Very poor service, are they really that chaotic that each sales person has their own list? It doesn't seem likely, what happens when a delivery comes in, do they wrestle each other to decide who's customer gets called first? Sorry to hear they treated you like that ☹️

Supposedly you can only be on one list, so they must be able to compare their lists :) I have an unexpected follow up video I need to do... compare and contrast. Keep your eyes open for that :) It'll probably be a few weeks though. :/

@@KillingTimeWithNorman worth a look mate. It can get you into one sooner. The Tudor is nice and if you are really after a Tudor then go for it but if you are after a Rolex, it won’t scratch the itch long.

We had a AD in small town next door that didn't make their quota. Rolex came to store and bought back all the watches. Now, they can not sell new Rolex watches. That store has been there before I was born. Just wrong!

That's bizarre. So if the salesman who put you on the list leaves, or is fired, or dies, you're off the list? I'm not interested in Rolex and I couldn't afford one if I was, but I would never put up with the BS I've heard about Rolex authorized dealers. I guess if you really do want a Rolex you have to find a trustworthy AD first, and apparently this AD isn't the one.
