I think the cold weather quickens the ripening timeline. Zac had to back away from the ‘green’ field...which is unusual for the middle of October.
@mr.mister-MАй бұрын
A freeze will usually cause the plant to die, and moisture will stay trapped initially, causing an infulux of internal moisture when it is green like this. But as the plant has time to die off and dry over the next 3 to 6 days, it will usually be about ready to cut depending on how wet the plant was and other environmental factors.

This may have been answered before, but why do you plant/harvest "circles", instead of rectangle/square? That's the way we plant/harvest in North Dakota.
@lynwessel24712 ай бұрын
Without irrigation in the corners the crop there would very poor most years.
@ClarenceObert2 ай бұрын
@@lynwessel2471 Interesting. Here in ND we deal with what mother nature provides. Not saying irrigation is bad, I'm just not used to the nuisance with using irrigation. Just shows that farmers deal with their particular environment to the best of their ability to maximize profit/expense margin. Kudos to Kansas farmers.
@lynwessel24712 ай бұрын
