Huge respect to the restorers of the Wellington. It makes me happy to see the preservation of this rare and important part of history

Thanks for commenting. The restoration took ten years or so and involved attention to corrosion, fabric re-cover, repaint and obviously a lot of other detail. I believe the rear turret will remain detached, to allow viewing of the inner fuselage and structure. With only two pretty much intact examples in the world, it is a fine example (the other was recovered from Loch Ness and is partially restored). A lot of museum aircraft of this era are now in need of similar attention, so I am pleased that this valuable aircraft has not been neglected. It is amazing what can be achieved, Spitfires can be rebuilt from recovery of a makers plate.

Nice video Stephen. The footage of the Wellington from various angles was really nice. I've never seen one close up myself, so I saw a lot of detail I had never seen before. Also I appreciate the footage of the target indicator bombs. I've also never seen a physical example of those, at most I've seen some black and white photos.

Thanks for the comments Colin. I believe they are not fitting the rear turret as they intend to light the inside with LED's. It is a really big museum with many more aircraft and rocket & bomb exhibits in multiple hangars (see one of my earlier videos). WC J H Searby's log book & medals are also on display. I included the TI for interest as I had not seen one before.

Essas cosas si que se veían bastante inseguras. De verdad que había que estar loco para cruzar medio continente arriba de algo tan inestable. Respeto por todos esos valirntes..."" 🤔😬
