I really liked how in the end you have the camera point/pan up on the sun setting on the golden dawn. Alongside with Yuno's scream full of pain and agony, that entire transition feels like a painting.

They were not ready for Ep. 161 but then again no one ever is, even though they were tertiary char.s they've been around since Ep. 20 so it was rather shocking to see they didn't make it. Right when episodes 160 & 161 aired and the Golden Dawn were massacred, NO ONE WAS READY!! I read the manga and when I saw what happened I was shocked but the anime definitely made me tear up because the anime gave us episodes to like the Golden Dawn more so seeing half of them die was very VERY SAD, hope they’ll be prepared to react to the next episodes because THIS WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING OF THE DESPAIR!!!!

Bruh... I remember when Ep. 161 dropped, I was shook at the end. Considering what kind of timey-wimey plot bull they pulled with "oh, hey, Julius is still alive!" earlier in the show, I thought in the first half of the episode, "I'm sure there's gonna be some plot device deus ex machina.. this is like, everyone good lives and everyone bad dies kind of cookie cutter storytelling". And then the mythical "save their lives" plot event happened and I initially rolled my eyes. But... not everyone was saved, and I just remember sitting there after the episode happened and I closed the VRV tab and realizing, "They really did this... they actually did this...". Didn't even want to watch anything else afterward because BC literally spent the show up until this point making it SEEM they were going to be like "yeah, nobody dies!!" with the elves getting their redemption and the Sally/Rades/Valtos trio having a heel-face turn and it just felt very Naruto-y... and then they slap you with this and you're like "... shit... I guess people with names CAN die in this show". I wonder if that was intentional by the author.
