People asking about ZOOM! So zoom doesn’t give you range anymore which is true. But if you have lower zoom not only is it harder to shoot further away (even if you have 100 range) but your shots simply won’t register properly with lower zoom. 14 zoom is the standard since most SMG’s are at that amount. 15 zoom is very good if the gun allows you to get it. But anything below 14 puts you at a severe disadvantage even with 100 range.

Wallah, i did a lil testing and the origin trait gives it 2 meters of range, so its got to be a little more than 10 or so range

FYI, time to kill is only lower for body shots, if you’re only hitting headshots (optimal time to kill) hasn’t been changed at all, in fact some niche weapons like trace rifles actually kill faster.

Target lock works ya, but that’s if you’re not hitting optimal ttk. Problem with old target lock was either allowing you to hit optimal with way less precision, or allowing a perfect beam to kill exponentially faster. Now it legit won’t proc if you’re hitting all headies, which I’m happy with, no more absurd 0.6ttk with immortal and whatnot

With the health changes, you should check out multimach when it comes out with kinetic tremors. If you hit bodies, you can still clean up with it. Showrunner has it now, but the other stats are middling

Glaive ammo is glitched in the checkmate sandbox, you only get one shot per transmat (should be 4, two kills worth of ammo). Like this so Bungie can fix

The zoom is for your shots registering better! A lot of people don’t realize how important zoom is on these lower range weapons like SMG’s and sidearms but it helps A LOT

The void one? It's stats are literal as$ unless the origin trait pushes it to consistently oneshot at 6.70m it's nowhere near as competitive as Mata or Found.

@@fotis3v480range has nothing to do with kill range on shotguns it’s more about damage so sudden death is probably better at one hitting than all other legendaries

@@fotis3v480 damage falloff can reach 6 and a half meters with slide shot opening shot before damage falloff but only requires 9 pellets, being an aggressive frame. Meaning, you can definitely get consistent kills at the same meters on target. Plus the extra, albeit small, damage from the origin trait helping out. Mata requires almost every single pellet to land (11/12) even at its max falloff. It has nearly the same damage falloff but with more forgiveness than a max range matador. Just trading handling for it. Unless you have elemental capacitor and an arc subclass on.

fragile focus is better. target lock does technically work, but it doesn’t change your optimal time to kill. it’s basically useless unless you’re hitting the body.

To be fair the tempest is still good anf can probably even keep up. I managed to get a super roll with moving target/rangefinder or target lock. The orgin trait can still boost range too. Yes it has a little less range but it can still have the 14 zoom so you can pick whatever you want. So I guess at the end of the day it depends on playstyle.

On your smg roll at the beginning ot wont start target lock until the 8th bullet so you only get target lock for one or 2 bullets before you kill someone on the one you showed

I still love unending tempest with dynamic sway fragile focus. Stability masterwork so I have good stability and at 75 range when i have fragile focus plus origin trait I have close to 100. Sure I'll play prophecy a few times but no way I'd grind over and over for this new one when we have a lot of optioms
