Dragons between 16th and 14th Scarlets between 14th and 12th Cardiff between 12th and 9th Ospreys between 10th and 5th For Wales this autumn, winning 2 games would be the target
@TheWelshSportsPodcast2 ай бұрын
Yeah I’d tend to agree with your predictions 2 wins is a big ask but that would be a great autumn and really change the complexion of things
@westy80652 ай бұрын
Hi Christian, hoping we get a couple of wins this autumn then a reasonable 6n! There is quite a lot of talent coming through! Then again I'm forever the optimist! As for league matches I fancy ospreys and Cardiff to qualify for play offs!
@TheWelshSportsPodcast2 ай бұрын
I love the optimism👌🏼 There is certainly enough good players there to have a bit of a run in the league it’s just whether they can put it consistently together for long enough across the year As for Wales, let’s just say I can’t get any worse😂 Can it?😳

Hi Christian, good to see ya!, After the summer tour I know we lost to Australia but it wasn't a thrashing a difference of 10 points in both games, so the Autumn internationals does give me a bit of hope and if it goes well might feel the same in the 6N next year. I think we do have go captains in Dewi Lake and Jac Morgan as long as it's one them I'm happy or change them game to game, just my thought. It's just a tough time for Welsh team and the regions I think the Ospreys will be top of the four regions and I like the Scarlets saying that I do the other three as well. Catch you soon take care

A lot of doom and gloom in the comments bit sad to see. personally Its fairly obvious why Gats went with the young squad, so much talent but too young and inexperienced, however having gone through all that it is bearing fruit, some of those young players are killing in senior rugby now, Max Llewellyn, Eddie James, Daf Jenkins, Grady, Hathaway etc massive talents doing really well, on top of that people seem to forget we were resting players over the summer so we have beard and Rowlands back, plus injuries like Jac Morgan. In all honestly we did have a shortage or winger , centres, props, and decent half backs - I would argue we now have some epic wingers and centres, I think the scrum is looking a lot stronger with some real talent (only concern is against the really big boys like SA and France) and I think we are only short of a set 10. Good to have Anscombe back but he is prone to injury and we can't rely on him forever - I really liked the look of Costelow but he really hasn't improved or been consistently good at international level. I liked Lloyd but again not an experienced 10 and made stupid errors - he is playing more 10 now so he might come good - I and disappointed in Sheedy not being there, very good ball distribution and I am stunned Edwards not being at camp at least. So whiulst there's talent there at 10 we don't seem to be looking to develop it which is what worrys me. Onto how well we will do , actually looks like a very talented team with a lot of experience back and I personally think we have a good chance to beat Fiji AND Australia , think SA scrum will punish us. Six nations I think we will do well, we nearly beat scotland england and Italy last year with a nothing team so I expect we have a good chance this year and think we will be competitive wioth France and Ireland (but lose). remember though we have 2 more years for these young lads to grow even more and I do think this might end up being a very very special squad.
@TheWelshSportsPodcast27 күн бұрын
Love the positivity and he certainly makes some good points. The tough growing pains over the last two years now look like they may be beginning to pay off with some quality young players. For me, I still think we way off the better, especially at prop and 10 but I do think we can at least win one or two games this autumn and hopefully grow from there

Winning in Murrayfield won't be easy for any team with the form Glasgow are in. The Scottish team are good. From an Irish fan

@TheWelshSportsPodcast Italy is the most likely for me I also think England and Ireland are more likely than you think but still Wales will be underdogs
@delboyd722 ай бұрын
In all honesty wales have shown little overall progression . The team chemistry still isn’t there , can’t put 2 halves of good rugby together , a very young side lacking consistency and sometimes skill and decision making . Tactical kicking poor and mentality is weak . I can only see Fiji as a possible win , Aussies should win and Sa will be a blowout by 40-50 pts . all we can hope for is to compete and scrape a moral boosting win at some point . The regions are so far behind in money and general investment , recruitment is constant as the depth in the squads is shallow . Having said that there are some bright new players coming through . Doubt they’ll get their chance , if they do I hope they prove themselves as there are opportunities now .
@TheWelshSportsPodcast2 ай бұрын
Yeah, it’s a really bleak outlook and at the moment all we really have is hope which when you think where we came from 5 to 10 years ago is a real shame. The complete management has just left us at the point where we’re constantly scraping the barrel for any win at all
@davidlee552 ай бұрын
Wow its dire to say but i dont think we will win a game this autumn or six nations. I can also see very similar results for the regions this year compared to last year. Scarlets say theyve bolstered upfront and okay an extra second row and two tight heads but they only have two senior loose heads Mathias and Hepburn neither known for scrummaging. Dragons similar story havent got the front five. Cardiff maybe do a little better with Sheedy coming off the bench I love how Tinus De Beer plays but maybe a territory 10 vs a play maker especially off the bench means Cardiff sneak a few more games. Ospreys will have a hell of a pack this year but that backline has to find some creativity from somewhere especially in mid field as Watkin and K Williams just go route one. For Wales the Wales squad the return of a Will Rowlands, Jac Morgan, Tommos Williams, Gareth Anscombe, Josh Adams might make a difference but with Howlers running the attack I cant see any shape at all. Lions Tour think you are right Lake, Morgan and T Williams make the touring squad and may make a test bench. Outside bets Daf and Grady just because he can quite a few positions and hes a hell of an athlete.
@TheWelshSportsPodcast2 ай бұрын
Yeah I’m worried about us, not getting a win either, but I’m being hopeful because at the moment I don’t have anything else😂 Yeah, your point about the front row situations at the Scarlets and dragons are spot-on. I’m just hoping the reasons as a whole can pull out a few more wins than last year because otherwise fans are just gonna stop turning up at the stadium.
@barrythomas95712 ай бұрын
So, what does anyone expect, this is a young side without a great deal if experience, they can only get that experience and to try and improve by coming up against the top teams. What we need to do as supporters is continue to encourage the team. Really, it goes to show how poor Welsh rugby's condition is. How will improve. Personally, I do not know, Wales indeed could be the Italy of the 6 nations for a while yet, truly, I really hope I am absolutely wrong.

I do try to generally be positive. I think this season we will be better but I’m still now sure if improved performance will lead to better league position 🤷🏻♂️

@@TheWelshSportsPodcast I think that your video did show you as having a positive outlook regarding the state of play for Welsh rugby, yet you were also pragmatic which equally important. I probably came across as slightly negative, I did not mean for that to be so, but Welsh rugby is not in a good place at the moment, yet each of us must continue to be supportive, otherwise we may see Welsh rugby sink to even lower depths. We are a small nation, and in many cases this is a David and Goliath situation, but look what happened in that situation. Welsh rugby will continue, patience from its supporters is a must, and probably new blood in its governor's is what is needed, people who can govern our sport and bring it out of the doldrums, whatever the cost, so keep your videos coming they are more than helpful.
