3:10 I think it is called St. George’s Channel because there’s legend that St. George once sailed from his home in Byzantium to the British Isles and passed through this channel before landing. I don’t know how old the legend is or its accuracy, especially seeing as to how it was popularized by a 16th century privateer of all people!

what is funny is that as someone from outside the UK i don’t notice you having a welsh accent and i just hear a british one, EXCEPT when you say “here” and it sounds like hiyuhr
@JackofAllGraves Жыл бұрын
My Welsh friend pointed out that ear, hear, and year are all pronounced exactly the same (yuhr) with a Welsh accent and it's now my favorite thing

That's so funny. My grandparents had stronger Welsh accents and I occasionally slip into one. For the word "going" my grandfather would say, "goyyin" and I sometimes slip up and say this 😂 mostly when I'm talking to the dog oddly

You didn't mention that Northern Ireland is part of the UK; just that island of Great Britain is. Always enjoy watching or listening to your videos. Thank you very much.

I really hate the map books that split the map with the book spine, but great video anyway

I prefer them as you can really get the pages flat and it's easier for videos

It depends hos you count coastline norway is not 2nd
@WelshASMR82Maps Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's cheating a little to say Norway. It's only there if you count every inch of the fjords, rather than measure it as the crow flies

Bornholm was occupied by the Soviet Union when the Germans left Denmark. it is interesting.
