Lovely stretch. Ha, your mate was kicking back. Mind you his co paddler was cool with that. Yeah, no rush on the river with all that beauty and drifting to enjoy. Good so far - I've swam that stretch to. Pretty good apart from the fact there can be hundreds of swans. Well, following this with great delight. Take care out there. Mark

Hi Scott, I recently became active with scouting Ireland Again, having been away for the backwoods for many years. I was hoping I could pick your brain in helping me choose some kit. I've been binging on your videos this past week and really enjoy them, You have a fantastic passion for the outdoors and backwoods. my delima is with kitting my self out with the correct gear as there is so much on offer and i see you use many variants of the same items i assum for different tasks depending on your trip. As part of scouting there is a course in backwoods which take about 3 and a half years to complete, which has many different skills associated it from carving to different types of camping in different conditions to cooking without utensils or pots, pans and grills etc. Most of this will kick off next January but i want to acquire some gear between now and then and also do some carving. I would be extremely grateful if you could give me some advise on getting kitted out, I have noted your kits but it would seem you have a house full of gear which i cannot afford but if it anything like my fishing im sure I will accumulate a lot in time. my 2 kids are also involve in the scouts so i dont mind buying good gear that they will inevitably claim for their own someday. but i just need kelp to buy the right stuff first time round as to not be wasting money to use one and find its not fit for purpose, sincerly Aidan.. PM or email me if possible.

Yes buddy. In next episode. They're not spectacular like rivers in NZ though

@@welshwoodsman If you get to NZ try the Whanganui, its 3-6 days depending on how far you go, no cell phone or pubs anywhere, one rapid is called 50-50, for its odds of capsizing, seen here kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGG8nGhjaJ6eiZo
