Specially since I thought most of it was sealed due to Kiana. Does he have limited amount energy that would explain why he has used his powers so sparingly. Also this could lead to a power up with him finding alternative source of energy to power his core and star of Eden. Aoens' use imaginary energy and honkai energy is created from it if I understand completely so maybe there is a way.

Void archives confirmed it in the manga that he still has his core and in his 'about powers' dialogue when you ask him he stated that his ability to mimic stuff is an ability he obtained from an old friend. He mostly uses his herrscher of reason powers for work now as it's not as efficient as the star of eden for battle because it requires high concentration to be viable in combat.
