Agree 100%! For your average homeowner, this saw is pretty much all they'll need! I picked one up for my son. He's gonna love it!

Agree completely! It's a $150 saw, trying to appeal to the average homeowner/casual firewooder that COULD use but DOESN'T need a $500 saw to use 2-3 times a year! Respect that they're made as cheaply as possible, maintain them and they'll likely serve you well! I've been amazed by my little craftsman s145 42cc zenoah clone😯 hence why I'm interested in this wemars! Thanks for showing and sharing👍

I bought a garwinner and burned it up in 3 months. The problem is that the exhaust vents straight out the front and when you cut a big log it blocks the exhaust and over heats the engine. I got my money back and bought a wemars for $125. Identical saw. Now I know the weak spots, it should last a long time. Great saws for the money. I'd give it a 10. If it was a $1200 saw, I would give it a 7 or 8.

I just did a job for a guy, and he gave me one of those newer 42cc craftsman saws like the Jon cutter/Wiemars. Seems to be solid built saws. I’ve had the JC5800 for about 6/8 months now and I haven’t done anything other than change to the HD style filter. Been a great saw so far. Light and powerful for the size chasis they’re mounted on. 👍👍

@@brentschneider7045 this is the kit that I'm using. Seems to be way better than the stock set up, but the air filter cover won't work with it. I'm sure you could find one that will fit tho. But I haven't had any issues with it.

Having had one umbilical hernia repair, and then a hernia repair repair... you're right about the stupid heavy lifting. Talk about laying you out for a month or two.

I got run in the stomach by a little guy with a 14” dagger who had lost at a card game I had attended… had the whole belly split everything got stitched up and back together and then the screen… 4 months later I had my throttle cable snap and my bike cracked wide open as I had just turned onto the road leading to my house… as I was blasting across the front lawn a 100 I decided I should lay it down!!! Needless to say we needed a new screen job for the old stomach! So in my old age I’m all for cutting those big things down with the saw’s so it’s a manageable weight… once you really tear yourself up a dozen times pretty good… you realize that hulking out and being a strong guy is for teenagers! Stay healthy sir and enjoy the saw’s and cutting… they make hydraulic’s and engine’s for lifting and moving heavy weight… no sense in beating up your body!

Here's a question.. being a Zenoah/redmax clone is there an "OEM" replacement capability with parts? I.e. if you keep burning clutches could you slap a redmax clutch in it or are these "new pattern" or "inspired by" instead of a direct clone?
@ToddAdams12342 жыл бұрын
It’s iffy. Most of the time you can do it IF you know what Husky saw it would match up to. If you have a particular saw in mind and issue, say it out loud.
@mattfleming862 жыл бұрын
@@ToddAdams1234 These wemars are supposedly redmax clones. My question was more "are they LIKE the farmertec saws, in that they can accept parts from the original designer" RM wasnt bought out till like 2007 by husky from what I have read. I assumed these were copied from older redmax designs. I know nothing though about redmax saws, so I could have some foundational knowledge issues here.

@@ToddAdams1234 I'm sure the number of folks who have went nuts with a Wemars are still quite slim. However with the build quality/value they provide it won't be long until there are legit subject matter experts on the subject. I'm considering one of them for myself to keep as a sort of 'truck gun'

Don't strike the clutch with a punch or screw drive to remove. Mine cracked threw the center hole when doing so. Echo three pin pull fits. Amazon had it in stock. The Qhalen 4500 5200 5800 clutch fits it. Installed 3/8 sprocket 24" Husqvarna bar and 83 link .050 xcut chain. Fell and blocked a seasoned dead standing 20" elm tree. All good so far.

Hey brother just wanted to let you know that I've attempted to measure my Salem Master 6220g and came up with the same numbers pretty much, except I've noticed that the Salem master has a pop up piston unlike the other China saws ive had. (Ive had two others a 45cc Vehpro and a no name 58cc sold as a 68cc) both of those were domed pistons. Does the Wemar's have a pop-up piston???

When you ran the 3/8 chain did you have to change the sprocket? maybe a dumb question my knowledge of chainsaws stops at getting them to run and cutting firewood. I ask because I ordered one that looks just like this but a different name and looking for chains it seemed 20in 3/8 chains may be easier to find.

That’s what I call hernia wood!!! I usta do that crazy stuff when I was younger too and that’s why those disks are shot and all that other damage to me that if I was much smarter that I would have avoided! Doing that cutting with the saw’s and getting them lighter and easier to lift and move is much, much better for your back and body! As I’ve said I had to test the $100 dollar choocher 60cc … I bought it a hls .050 gauge 20” Raismen bar and chain combo… which I definitely rate as a 10 because it’s like $35 bucks for the bar and chain combo on sale and I have like 4 years on it hand filing! That’s freaking straight crazy! These $100 dollar 60cc saw’s are freaking awesome!!! 40:1 mix and pound the piss out of it!!! These $100 dollar saw’s will be there in 5 years!!! 3 clutch’s in that short time is definitely something that you need to look at! I’ve had my rakes down at 50 thou for several years with insane vibration and it’s the original clutch…. He needs a 16” bar or an 18” .325…. Don’t apply that pressure??? I’ve beaten the dog shit out of mine and it’s great! Because it’s that zenoah echo design!!! A finger tip of grease or a little layer of silicone will help the air filter catch those fines! I’ve cut at least 40 cords worth with the choocher and she’s running like a rapped ape!!! It’s from China so it comes with the duel exhaust muffler mod because they don’t have the epa crap so they breathe great right out of the box! These aren’t junk they are awesome… I’m putting the hours on these cheaper saw’s and saving my high quality ones!!!

Bottom line, you can't run a $120 to $150 saw the same way that you can run a $500 to $800 saw and expect it to last. Don't jack the RPMs way up and run the tar out of them, use a good mixed fuel, keep your chain in good shape, and do good maintenance on your saw, it will more than likely last. By the way, it's not so much how many cords of wood that you cut, it's how you cut them. Yes, there are some super cheaply made tools that are just best to stay away from.

I see what you are saying. He was kinda addressing it - more cuts per dollar for a homeowner who will only put 20 tanks through it a year. A professional will definitely get more cuts per dollar spent on a saw if they go Stih/Husqvarna/Echo. If you've got no budget for a saw or professional and you have a tree blow down I think a saw like this definitely has its merits. And as an entry level (price wise) saw I'd rather destroy this by accident/ignorance than a 362, then go buy the pro saw once I've gained a bit of experience.

I’ll side bet you $5 bucks that with the softwood rakes setting of .035 to have an aggressive chain that you can cut down and bust up a tree everyday with that $150 dollar saw and it’s not even going to need a new spark plug for the next three years! They need oil in the mix 40:1 is the thinnest and 32:1 will be fantastic for those bearings and that chrome blend older style…non nikasil cylinder lining material! They need to be treated like those older style saw models that got a little bit more oil in their mix….
