That was the most fun thing about massive guys like Kareem, Mark Eaton, Shawn Bradley and Manute Bol (and Yao, though he was not as much of a shot blocker)- they were so gigantic and so incredible around the rim, and it was so satisfying to see people have to raise their effort to try to dunk on them. Aside from Yao, we haven't had a regular rotation player over 7'3" in 25 years- the last 7'4" one was Rik Smits in 2000 since nobody plays Boban enough minutes.

Well he's been a pro for years but hasn't put on any muscle yet. He is the same frame as Ralph Sampson did and he never put on muscle. If you got stronger it would make a big difference, but a lot of NBA big men are going to figure out that you just go right at his chest and then shoot and problem solved.

I love that his height isn’t just for show, every time I see his numbers there’s always 3-5 blocks and that means more to me than anything.
