As much as I hate to admit it, me too. 30 dollar cheap somewhere Else made jeans vs 100 buck American jeans of slightly quality jeans. The 50 buck foreign vs the 100 buck American. I would still bought the foreign jeans. Just being honest. If it’s for 50 percent but 75 percent. Prob buy American. The gap is so huge these days. I want to buy American made. But I sometimes feel that the American company ask more just bc it’s American made only, and no other reason. To an extent, they have that right. But I also have the right to buy oversea stuff. We, as Americans or the west need to find a way to fit the hole someway where everyone actually wins from ceo to plant emp to buyer of the thing

Just a comment about Woodpeckers: I was fortunate to have a personal one-on-one tour of their manufacturing facility. As a manufacturing engineer I was interested in their processes. Their array of the latest machining technology and the volume of CNC multi-axis machining centers is more than a little impressive. I was blown away, and that's not easy to do with my experience. Interestingly, I learned that 40-50% of their production is sold to tool collectors. It would be awesome to afford to fully equip my shop with their products, however, I'm just a hobbyist and conservative buyer. I really enjoy your product reviews. It has helped me on numerous occasions.

I have been a fan of Wen Tools for a while. I own several, including the 10-inch variable drill press, track saw, and 9-inch bandsaw. I am an occasional DIY guy, so I am not putting them through heavy usage, but to this point, I have had no issues, and they do the jobs I need them for at a price that I can afford. Here's a little clarification on the company (from their website): "WEN products are made in many locations around the world, including the United States, Germany, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and China. WEN's headquarters are in West Dundee, Illinois, and they also have warehouses in several US locations."

It actually has 11 scales. 5 are double ended, and the eleventh is the full size 1 inch scale. Since I haven't seen it mentioned...the fine markings at the ends are for accurately drawing fractions of a foot at scale. So a 1/4" scale has 12 divisions for the 12 inches in a 1/4" foot.

Never been impressed by anything Wen, but these look legit.. And anything that's an alternative to Wood Peckers is nice.

I have been impressed with the WEN tools I have bought over the years. Just do the research, some are amazing while others are not just like name brand.

many years ago i bought a couple of wen power tools. i was on a tight budget, but i really did not like them. didn't even look at wen again till recently. i wanted to get a sliding miter saw. i wanted one that would tilt both left and right. needed a slider also. found the wen 12 inch miter saw. it was well made, had the sliding mechanism which slid from the front. this is one of the best miter saws i have ever owned. wen has really stepped up their game and their prices are very competitive.

I have the Wen oscillating drum/belt sander, been meaning to pick up the 12” drill press too, just hard to find in stock. I can’t lie, I like the red anodizing of the Woodpeckers (though I don’t own any, only some Amazon knock-offs); I think Wen could’ve stood out more by making these in their orange color, though understandably, a lot of ppl prefer the ‘stealth’ or inconspicuous black color.

I saw these on Amazon a couple of weeks ago. I thought for that price point they must not be accurate. Thanks for correcting me Matt. 👊

Time to add to the Wen collection in my garage 😂. The prices of these things are impossible to resist. Great video, Matt.

Matt, this is a great one from you. I (and I hope, many of your subscribers would like to see more of) would like to see you do more of the financial friendly tools like Wen and Ryobi and possibly others. You see I am on fixed income and still need and want more economical tools. I am in the Ryobi battery platform and actually been using them probably 20+ years. While my tools that truly matter(Miter Saw, table saw and routers), I have Wen benchtop tools and even my track saw is a Wen. But my most healthy needed tool is my Festool sander and extractor (only Festool I own and is their cheapest sander and extractor). My next tool will be the Wen 4214 benchtop variable speed drill press. Would love to see your review of this. I would really like for you to reply so I can get your thoughts on this
