The Pentel pencil also has a great feature of retracting the tip and lead immediately when you press the pocket clip. When you press the plunger the next time, the lead and tip pop out. It's a nice solid pencil.

I love those pencils. I had three, but if you drop one with it open, you will likely not have a usable pencil anymore. The tip gets bent and then you are done. Still it is the pencil I go to, every time!

I have the sanding mice, Taytools set up bars, and the lefty/righty fastcap measure (I’m left handed). I for sure want to get the Microjig push blocks and the 123 blocks.

Loved the list, already have over half of them and love em just like you. However, a couple of important points on several items didn’t get mentioned. I use the lefty/righty tape measure for most everything but especially love the spring belt clip and the write on white disk on the side, especially helpful when you’re the cut man and your partner is shouting measurements at you. The feature on the Pentel pencil I consider to be crucial is how the tip and the lead retract every time when you squeeze the pocket clip, protecting that vital area. And, you can snag the 4 pack with all 4 lead sizes with extra leads and erasers on line for about $40. I carry the .9 mm all the time for general work but when your want to get fine as frog hair, the .7 and .5 are just the ticket. Do hafta get one of those thin rip jigs.

Milescraft, since it's a cheaper "Kreg", they make their own version of bench cookies. They're a triangle shape and cost $2.99 each. So for 4 of them, it's $11.94. Genuine Dickies also makes their version of the Carhartt work shorts, and they're just called Utility Shorts. Only like 10 dollars cheaper though.

The thumbnail with the pencil I use caught my attention. A useful accessory for the pencil is a magnetic holder that means I can attach them to my lathe, drill press etc. They can also be used for things like chuck keys and other small tools.For the hockey pucks I recommend looking for foam practice pucks. These are a high density foam that gives them a bit more grip.

On the Pentel...there is a less expensive version that comes in two packs for the same price as the fancy one. Great pencil. Have used them for fifty years. Honestly! When I bought the fancy one, I also bought a softer lead than the #2 that comes with it. I bought *2B* leads, Pentel brand, in a twelve tube pack. Each pack holds 15 leads. I know, huh? Lifetime supply...both mine and whoever ends up grabbing the pencil when I pass. 😂 The 2B lead is roughly equivalent to a #1 pencil. Slightly darker (easier for old eyes) and slightly softer (less chance of scoring). Pentel pencils are color coded based of lead diameter. The 0.9mm pencils are yellow-ish, the 0.7mm are blue, the 0.5mm are black. Their fancy pencils use the color scheme in their finger grips and printing while the original, less expensive pencil has the whole body colored. Whichever one you choose...I have a fancy 0.7mm and 0.9mm, and multiple original bodies at my drafting table...you'll wonder why you never got them before now.

I do like the graph gear pencils, particularly the retracting tip that makes it last longer. But I wish they made one with the wider eraser of the twist-erase version. That one is a little less durable, but it fits my hand better and has a much better eraser. The graph gear appears to be stronger because of the metal cladding, but I have had the entire end break off, to see it's only plastic where it broke. So I'm returning to the twist erase, and hoping for an update with a retractable tip.

With all due respect the Uni Kurutoga pencil at Amazon beats that Pentel one all hollow. The basic problem with mechanical pencils is you need a certain amount of lead exposed to write, but too much will break off, and it's very hard to maintain a happy medium. I've fought this battle for years, until I found the Kurotoga. The thing that makes it special is that it automatically advances the lead for you as you write. Enough to write with; not enough to break off. I'm telling you, check this thing out. You won't be sorry. P.S. There are cheaper versions of self-advancing pencils; Ticonderoga makes one; I have these also and don't like them nearly as much.
@glennchaffin84464 ай бұрын
Those Pentel pencils are no joke. I also have the 7mm and the 9mm and I use them both all the time. We all buy stuff for the shop we think we need and then find out later that we probably didn't need it after all. That's not the case with this list. Everything here is very useful and most of all, affordable. Great Video. P.S. Nice watch 😁

Rocker bench cookies will cost you twice as much as you quoted. Rockler is infamous for their excessive shipping costs. So combine this with tax and the item price and it’ll be $40. Gripper products do not offer replacement pads so when they get chewed up you end up chucking a giant piece of plastic into the land fill. I’m not knocking this products for the sake of doing so I am speaking from personal experience
