Keeping both hands at the end of the tool gives you no leverage or control- that's why your tool is jumping off the stock. I always keep a hand forward pushing down on the tool against the rest for stability.

It is a 1” x 8 TPI thread. There is a link in the description to the one I purchased. The tail stock takes the smaller mt1 drill chuck. Thanks for the positive comments and thank you for watching.

You will need a drill chuck in the tail stock for that.

The motor is to weak was limited to real small jobs on that lathe, price is ok.,end ip buying a bigger one .nor really satisfied with the equipment
