I am a 53 year old female American school teacher who loves hip hop and rap but have grown weary of the often horrific lyrics and accompanying videos of so many of them. I was searching for music outside my country and fell in love with the Ethiopian sound! I plan on showing the videos of Wendi and others to my students for them to dance to and absorb the culture of such a beautiful people. Hopefully, the lyrics that I don’t have a clue what is being said are wholesome!!:)
@lamrof6 жыл бұрын
Good luck, music is like food, it is universal but you got to grow into liking it. The lyrics of most, in fact all Ethiopian music are clear of vulgarity. Usually the songs are about love, such as this one, and also patriotism.
@simonbokretsion5336 жыл бұрын
The song is about love Theresa. i am Eritrean and i have much respect and love to my Ethiopian brothers and sisters. i've never heard of an Ethiopian song with violence or inappropriate lyrics. i think you can show this video and others to your students the song is about peace and love about Eritrea and Ethiopia.

Thank you, kind sir!:) I am researching about traditional Ethiopian dances as well. So fascinating! My students will come to appreciate the traditions and cultures from around the world which is so important to our global community. Thank you, again for your reply!

This song took me back to Sudan ( Khartoum)🇸🇩 in early 2015 when I just arrived there from Eritrea 🇪🇷. I remember watching the clip all night long. After seven years still enjoying it from a different country, USA 🇺🇸 . Thanks God for walking me through those eventful years and thank you Wendi Mak for this beautiful song.
