I honestly think that the Ant Hill kids cult video and the email you got from the daughter of the victim were the best thing that could've happened. @kyokoyumi Жыл бұрын
@@6nomemory6 You don't have to be Christian (Christianity seems to be the majority when people say "religious" so that's why I'm assuming). You could be Shinto or Buddhist. They're not "do or die" religions like you might see Christianity as. Most Japanese don't even see themselves as religious in most cases despite the fact that most of them practise Shinto principles and rituals. Buddhism is really just ritualistic self-reflection. I do believe you'd have success with Buddhism and Shintoism though because there's not really any gods to speak of. Buddha isn't a god, just what equates to the first human to reach enlightenment. Shinto has what people might call gods (kami) but they're more like spirits. Every object and being has a spirit associated to it regardless of how mundane it is. You either exist in the world of spirits or the world of mortals. Some others that have no real god-worship to speak of: Taoism (Daoism), Confucianism, Jainism, and atheism is considered a valid form of belief in Hinduism because it emphasises following your dharma (duty) more than worshipping deities. (Notice they're all Asian religions. Asians place a lot more value in family, ancestry, and things that are physically there while attributing spiritual properties to those physical things than westerners do) You can also consider yourself agnostic (possibly. Because I'm not certain if "i wanna to believe for some reason but my brain is so hard wired to not to that it's just ain't happening." is in reference to believing in a deity or not) if you simply believe that the existence of the divine or supernatural is unknown or unknowable. Currently for me, having been force-born christian before becoming wiccan, buddhist, atheist, druid, hindu, buddhist again, shinto and is now a practising onmyouji of 14 years who wholly believes in Inari-dono's existence, I can tell you it does take a considerable amount of self-discovery before you find what fits you :) Try to focus more on the rituals of the religion when trying to find your fit. You want to do rituals that mesh with who you are and your daily life. I hope this helps! 幸運!

The Akali Raft Experiment remains one of my favorite Wendigoon vids, there's something so uplifting about the idea of a group of people tricked into a situation where they should have been exhibiting their worst natures yet they instead embraced the best in their humanity, experiencing life-long friendships, bonds, and even spiritual growth, all in the face of a jerk who thought he was smarter than they were. I put that video on whenever I'm feeling low and it always perks me back up.

Glad he touched on how he/others talk about victims in his videos. Its important to acknowledge that they're people first, that were victims of whatever horrible thing the videos about, rather than victims that happen to be people. Happens too often that we hear about something horrible that happens to someone and we basically just presume they're too fucked up by their experiences to live a normal life, when in reality most of the time they manage to slip back into society and live a full life. Glad to see Wendigoon doing a good job of not talking about victims as if their soul purpose in life is being basically a character in a horror movie.

I’m so so interested in your upcoming series that will integrate more of the Bible in that way. I love your true crime and iceberg stuff, but my favorite of your videos are ones on Abrahamic/Biblical/Supernatural topics like Paradise Lost and Dante. I love those topics from a non-religious position, but also from a Christian one. One of my favorites was the Mandela Catalogue series and I appreciated the way you talked about alternate Gabriel because I completely understood your discomfort! That one is probably tied with the video you did explaining different types of angels. That inspired me to do more research of my own into topics like that, even having some conversations with people from my church. So, it’s definitely made an impact on me! Yo, Wendigoon, recently I read something that seems up your alley. Have you ever read The King in Yellow? It's a compilation of short stories by Robert W. Chambers. Notably, it was a huge influence on Lovecraft. I don't want to spoil the experience by describing it too much, but essentially every story relates to one another via overarching themes. In many of the stories characters seem to cross over from others. I would love to see a video where you break down the stories and give a timeline of how they intertwine with each other, fitting into the narrative as a whole. This is definitely a suggestion I'm making solely because it seems like something you'd enjoy and not at all because I'm too lazy to comb back over the book.

I’m trying to consider my favorite video and I can’t decide man I have like 7 on my mind right now, they’re all so good. I was just telling someone about an hour ago about the Waco, CIA Vampire, and Pizza Bomber ones 😂. Your MLK, Radiation sickness, toxic lady, Frankenstein - all great too. And Angel descriptions was interesting

would absolutely love a remake of the black parade video, hearing your take on the album and how it differed from many other more common interpretations was really cool.

I’m glad everyone agrees that the Sunday study videos don’t need to be high production. They are exactly perfect the way they are

Me watching Wendigoon rank every video he's ever made for an hour except the No Country for Old Men one 😐 (S+ Tier)

Please bring back sunday study videos, that is how I was introduced to your channel. HUGE fan also. I hear what you’re saying about putting more effort in, but I think it shows more effort how they are, unedited shows your natural flow. This allowed me to think of it as me sitting out there with you. Heavily editing the videos can lose that aspect. Love you man keep up the great work 🎉

In addition, please make videos about Scorsese and Tarantino. Your passion is obvious and shines. I can’t be the only one that desperately wants this.

I’m approximately ten minutes in and I just want to say that the thing that sold me on the Wendigoon channel was the lost books of the bible video. Partly because I am so fascinated by what didn’t make it in to biblical canon and why, but also because I could tell that you had a really good grasp of the material. I am a Christian myself and I am so used to having my faith chewed up and spat back out at me by people who want to manipulate it for their own gain or for worldly purposes, to find someone who didn’t do that was refreshing. So I stuck around.

Your Mandela Catalog video when it first came out is what got me into your channel. So I was disappointed you put it B Tier. Since then I have been hooked. Weird Bible Podcast is my favorite podcast. I just loved the collabs with you and Aiden. As I think you two have a fun dynamic. Keep on growing my man.

wendigoon should now rank every tropical dad shirt he owns (he probably owns only 2 or 100 no inbetween)

Man I remember watching the entire video you did on Blood Meridian when I was staying in a cabin in the woods, and feared for my life that I’d open the bathroom door to find The Judge in there.

I honestly fully agree with this list especially the 87 days of radiation hell it was the first video in years that invested me enough to literally need to listen/ watch to the end out of concern for the main character that video legitimately gave me an existential crisis in a good way and was I believe other then your divine comedy series my introduction to your channel 1 year ago. I found you through your movie recommendations list with papameat and have since been a huge fan. Also love creepcast keep being awesome ❤

The video about the Battle of Castle Itter is how I learned about a band that is now my favorite band. Also youre way too hard on yourself. You put so many of your best videos on lower tiers.

Kudos to you for being so openly Christian and treating it with so much respect. I know how hard it can be to be a Christian in today's society, and you're pretty much the only big Christian youtuber out there. You're doing God's work my friend.😊

I'll be real with you - I mostly enjoy your theological talks in the anthropological sense that I enjoy learning about belief systems as an outside observer. My experiences in life cannot be reconciled with the idea of a benevolent god. You may think I just haven't heard the right magic words yet, but many people have tried. 16 years being raised catholic could not stop me from leaving, and if your god cannot make peace with the fact I am both a non-believer and a person who wants to make earth a better place in whatever way I can, then I'm not interested in salvation.
