Like, you can have crushes on friends and still be friends. Well at the end of the show dipper and mabel were going to be freshmen in highschool after the summer (at this point they turned 13). So if she is 3 years older that means she would have probably been going into junior year of highschool (grade 11) and also would have turned 16 later that year. So not that young honestly. Not sure why it works this way in the show because in real life you usually are at least 14 when you become a freshmen, but in the show I guess it's 1 year earlier.
