You didn't get to see her in this mode often because Queenie could be very guarded but she was almost ALWAYS like this if you saw her in Detroit. She is so Detroit in this clip that I watch it just to laugh. LOVED her. Still do. She was not just the Queen of Soul, she was the Queen of Detroit and we will always love her.

Money doesn't make you happy in the ways that really matter. True, the Franklins did have money later on. Along with success comes many problems. But money did not take away the pain from the loss of her mother leaving the family home. Aretha has faced many difficulties. She kept her feet on the ground and was an incredible artist and woman. I have watched a lot of her interviews, and you can always tell if she likes you cause she lets her guard down. She was quite hilarious, intelligent, and very quick-witted. I bet she was a ball to ki-ki with.

Aretha really enjoys Wendy’s humor. It was evident in Wendy’s first line about the Pink Cadillac. This is one of the only interviews I have seen more of Aretha’s personality. She was sharp, witty, and very intelligent.
