Hey mate, how tall are you, what was the ergo's like? being 6ft2+ i'm looking for a middle weight non lams naked and this is ticking allot of boxes

hey dude, I'm 6'6" and the bike feels a bit small for me, but mostly just in legroom. If you're looking for a non lams naked the MT09 is the most spacious one i've sat on for a tall guy (which is part of the reason I bought one)

Noticed you mentioned it has the same engine as SMC-R/Enduro and close to 70hp... I'd like to correct you, and hopefully not sound like a dick. The 2016+ Duke engine is an upgrade from the previous iterations; bigger bore, longer stroke, another balancer-shaft to decrease vibrations (alot), 1k higher RPM, more horsepower (R-version has closer to 75hp), and the 2017 Husky 701 uses the same engine (as opposed to the SMC/Enduro which use the old LC4 engine). The Duke can't really be compared to the SMC/Enduro anymore. The ergonomics have also been upgraded to give you a more aggressive feel.

2 things I have to say, thank you for showing me through the 690, have wondered what it was like and also thank you for teaching me how to say Akropovic (I think that's is spelt haha) . Another Top video, glad you liked it, stoked it got a good review and it sounds pretty decent... The KTM twin with the Akro mufflers sound amazing but we live in an area dominated by the 3-400 range CBRs, Ninjas, MiniDukes etc... (hence why I love my Z1K - not only a break from the norm and day to day but a break from the 300's hahahaa! again, great review!

mike essary it's got a 33" seat height so you'd be close I think! Depends if you're more leg or torso :)

I can almost flat foot both feet on this bike and I'm 5'6 even if you can't it doesn't matter cause the thing is so light it's like holding up a bicycle lol

I think so, yeah! you can certainly get more powerful bikes for the same money, but on a tight twisty road I think this bike would be as fun as anything else on the road and probably up there with the fastest! you will get left behind on the straights, but anyone can go fast on the straights... ;)

the 2017 duke r revs to 10k not 9 and can rev upwards of 12500 if you get a custom map

yeah sure is. Weapon of a bike. So good for commuting. I have done a track day on my Duke R as well. It went pretty damn hard and IMO held up a lot better in the corners than most of the supersports that i was running with. Suffered on the straight though...

it's a shame they're so pricey here! if they were a few grand cheaper I reckon they would sell like crazy! Under 100kph, it's as fun as any bike I've ridden I reckon.

Yeah it's a bit average eh? But yeah when I spoke to the local KTM specialist he said you basically have to change the exhaust on the 690 Enduro because the cat gets so hot it melts the plastics!

Fresco and Leo Vince make link pipes. Sound is way better and you lose about 5kg. It also makes oil changes a breeze, and not the nightmare it is with the Cat on.
