Hello Sir, the esc that was in there was made for hellies specifically. It had a soft start and was programmed to run around 85 percent.. it made that heli not so frightening to fly!! I also put that gyro in as it seemed to work better than the original.. great flight Dave .
@NightFlyyer2 ай бұрын
I love this for sure. Not sure what happened, but somehow it got stuck on the soft start and would not go. I tried reprogramming it, but nada, so in went the eflite esc. All good again and thanks so much for this Charles.

But SHAME ON YOU for making it seem so easy! Do you give one on one lessons? I’d be willing to travel to your location…

If you fly airplanes, then it will be an easy transition to helis, once you understand a few differences. Yes, I have been teaching helis for over 40 years, and do my best to help folks. Simulators are first lesson and then 'using your own' helicopter we can get you going. Where do you live, as visiting is always a possibility. Thanks much.

That JR gyro is why that heli's still around. I forget what Align provided but they were unreliable as all get out, unfortunately that trait was passed on to their 3gx FBL units as well. I still love my 600 but it's the FBL version.

That Gyro never failed but I really don't need that, and have flown helis long before gyros were invented. I have many FBL helis as well, but flybars still suit my easy flying. Thanks.

Great video sir, but you have to tighten the blade screws a bit more
@NightFlyyer2 ай бұрын
Haha. Well actually they are pretty tight, but the pulses this ESC was making actually was kicking them harder than you think. I am a strong believer in absolutely of completely inline blades, like they were when R/C helicopters were invented and what I learned on. Never saw any wobbly blades on any of the real helicopters I was involved with in the USMC either. They all locked in place. Check out "My Helicopters wobbles" video and see a more in depth explanation if you care to. Thanks kindly. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gX2vl6GAls-crrc

Did you take of the machine with the new ESC in "normal" mode, so not having a flat throttle curve. There were quite some differences in the RPM depending on the position of your collective pitch / throttle stick. I agree with you that the headspeed in Idle Up mode was too high as well for my taste. I love to have headspeeds as low as possible and as only so "high" as absolutely necessary for mt soft 3D acros. I am still rather new to CP helis and never had to change a ESC. Do you have to readjust the throttle curves when using a different ESC? Maye be a stupid question, but I prefer asking than never knowing! Best greetings!
@NightFlyyer2 ай бұрын
I just put the Eflite esc in the default mode. When I first took off, I did not put it in throttle hold. I just purposely ran the throttle up and down to test it. Of course that looks spongy, as using motor speed AND collective is not typically the way I fly, as I always flip the switch to have constant power. After that flight, I only lowered the Throttle hold to 80% to lower the head speed and now it is flying more to my liking.

It‘s if Ím right the 600 CF? Interesting Lipo holder set up. I‘m practicing on a 600 cf ,for some reason the paddle principle of the bell hiller head has for me something fascinating 😅 However, it was said to me that as far I master a Heli which has flybar,I will be also confortable on flybarless ones ..
@andrewczski19692 ай бұрын
My limited experience is flybarless is way better, and response is faster. Flybar seems to offer stability but not worth the sluggishness. Weight, as fuselages provide, help tame my heli's nature to be wild. Plus helps with maintaining orientation. Just reattached my Magnum PI fuse on a 500.
@NightFlyyer2 ай бұрын
Flybars simply make it easier to steer, with a Bell Hiller head. I fly many flybarless helis, even with 1 rotor blade and they fly just fine too. They are more maneuverable, but easy enough to make the transition. Thanks and good flying. Check this one out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2OqYYeCitedlZI

Hi nightflyyer, I’m now in aviation class in high school and I have an assignment where it’s which person or organization related to the aviation or an RC club interests me so I decided to pick you, I have 5 questions to ask that my assignment needs so I could complete it. I really appreciate if you respond and your videos are cool, thanks. Question 1, if you could go back in time to when you started service in the military, what things would you have done better on deciding your plan working with planes in the marines? Question 2, what would you say are the key differences in training and skill requirements between flying helicopters and planes in the marines? Question 3, what qualities or experienced do you think are most valuable for someone looking to excel in flying helicopters versus planes? Question 4, can you describe a particularly challenging or rewarding experience you’ve had while working with planes or while flying in the marines and what you’ve learned from it? Question 5, what advice do you have for someone just starting out who wants to ensure they are well prepared and competitive for a career in Air Force Aviation? Thanks nightflyyer.
@NightFlyyer2 ай бұрын
WOW! Well, I had no choice in choosing my aviation career in the USMC. 1. I passed the tests high enough to get an aviation Guarantee. I wound up getting picked to work Avionics on RF4B Phantom jets. Loved that. When they were phased out, I went to a CH53 E helicopter squadron. 2. Training for USMC Aviation requires intense instruction, either heli or planes. I don't think there is any difference in training, other than the aircraft are different, but equally requires skill. 3. As far as which to fly, it is basically up to the pilot and what he wants to choose. 4. My most rewarding experience was on the USS Midway Carrier. I learned a lot about the Navy and the way an Aircraft carrier works and how small it is from above when looking for it. That time I spent out on the Carrier with our Marine Phantoms was exhilarating and most exciting. 5. My advice is to talk to all the recruiters and pick the one you can be proud of. I picked the Marines because of their reputation. Marine Aviation is top notch and I am proud to have served in it. If you look at my Military Playlist, you will find many videos I produced on my USMC experiences, including boot camp, the USS Midway, and many others. Thanks so kindly and I hope you get an A. Semper Fi!

@@NightFlyyerthanks! I’m also glad I got in the aviation class for sophomore year, there was only 1 class of it and there wouldn’t be more classes of it for the students who also wanted. There would only be 1 period of it so I’m really lucky I got in. Once again, I’m really thankful you took the time to answer! The aviation teacher also thought of me probably bringing my walkera v200d01 to show the class an example of a single rotor uas and I’ll let you know how it goes! Thanks again!

Good entertainment. You have good skills on tne sticks. My Trex 550 im having a pronlem for aome reason with throttle at low stick. All my others helicopters are okay. This one now for some reason after bjnding to a new radio at low stick drops rpm like selecting throttle hold. Been all over adjusting my throttle curve. Nothing helps. Seems it wants to run either my high setting of 65% at mid stick and anything below 1/4 stick just wants to go to like idle. And its a pain trying to land. Gyro helps a ton with that, however still hard tail wags. Its electric. If anyone could help me try something different to cure it im thankful for your time and info.
