Joan wants to get off on seeing Veras suffering. Don't blame Joan, why has bridget the psychologist just writ her off? Someone should sincerely try and help her. I feel bad for Joan. She is bullied and when she tries others deny her so she gets revenge. She needs a good person to love her, a character who is strong and can help her deal with her demons from childhood on. It is a cruel world. Just to have one shrink a rapist and the bridget write her off as not helpable is very sad.

@@koolkitties8552 There are always reasons why people do what they're doing. I'm not denying that Joan is beyond evil and deserves to be in prison, but to really understand someone's actions you should identify their motives and feelings, and especially in Joan's case her mental ilness(es) 🤷🏻‍♀️😕 Sometimes I even feel a little sympathy for her (But maybe I'm just too naiv and in love with Pam 😅)

Giving love to a psychopath is useless because she/he will receive it as if it were attention, admiration, submission (all things that will feed her/his abusive and destructive behaviour). Rather, it is depression and a terrible ordeal that can "help" an emotionally deficient person to reconnect to something within themselves. So-called psychopathic people are said to have gone too far in distancing themselves from their emotions, in locking up their personality, and usually these people have abused other people with complete impunity, which is why it seems impossible for them to change (they see no point in becoming authentic, i.e. vulnerable). To want to love them is to become their new victim.
