The year was 1973 and I was a long haired, pot smoking, die hard Rock n Roll fan. None of my friends could understand why I would "waste my money" on a pair of Jerry Reed tickets. I just smiled knowingly, ended up going alone and had a blast. Music is like the worlds greatest buffet. Don't be the guy who just eats the shrimp.

it's refreshing to see this kinda attitude instead of the usual "MUSIC THESE DAYS JUST DON'T COMPARE" blah blah nonsense you see in the comments on music from previous decades. I'm only 30 and I love this stuff and Jerry Reed, but I listen to more genres than I can keep track of, from so many points in time. Music now is often just as good as music then, too. There's just far more of it so you often have to dig for what you'll like.

I'm even older. My high school days were the mid-fifties when a crossroad of several music genres all crossed in about 1955. Country crossover with Lefty Frizzel, Big Bopper, Ferlin Husky and many others. WW11 stuff was still around like the big bands, andrew sisters, mcqjuire sisters, and out of rythym & blues, howled Elvis, the king. Oh, I forgot to mention the original rock & roll band. Bill Haley and the Comets. Those were the days, my friends. Although the 70's brought a new revival of folk and rock that was probably just as good.
