Can testify personally, I’ve seen multiple Essendon players out at clubs DURING the 2022 season. I actually asked them what the standards were at the club about going out and they responded “8 day break” whilst laughing. Your fans aren’t laughing after the club has been a legit embarrassment for a good two decades.

Media is quick to forget the wilderness that Richmond and Melbourne went through before having their periods of success, it just so happens to be that the wilderness years for the Bombers are happening when footy media is at its most invasive, as well as having the biggest set back any club has ever had to deal with in the history of the game. Brad and Zach are fantastic leaders that will drive higher standards, as a long time Dons member I can’t wait for 2024!

As an upset bomber supporter I do agree with Damien on this. I expected huge improvement that Brad promised and it’s been only so little this year. I thought it might improve defensively, but was badly humiliated in that area in so many games. We allowed the opposition to run away while we play like nice weaklings. We’ve been a nice weaklings side too long. And the whole staff there is enabling it. The players and staff are really in a timid nice mentality.

Agree, I didn't think we would win more than half our games, always expected between 9 & 11 wins, but I expected to see Brad be much harder on them than what we saw. This whole notion of picking & choosing our efforts, picking & choosing when we tackle/chase/defend. Sick to death of seeing those games where they don't even look like they care, I wanted to see Brad come down like a tonne of bricks on those sort of pathetic efforts. Hope he ships a few of those softies out in the off-season, this is his chance to make a statement, because if he doesn't, the next 3 years or however long he lasts will be no different to the last 15 years.

I'm a Hawks fan so naturally hate Essendon. But man, Damo really has it in for Essendon. They had an okay year and trailed off badly, they were electric at the start of the year with a list that has no right making finals. Damo just loves sensationalism and bating clubs. His assessment of clubs' on field performances is about as accurate as you would expect for someone who's never played the game. He loves using boards, appointments and political decisions to create headlines where there isn't one. What is he trying to get out of this angle, more people sacked, is he trying to say that Essendon should have performed better and made finals? No expert worth their salt had Essendon finishing in the top 8 this year. To illustrate my point, if Essendon started the season they way they finished it and ended it the way they started, Damo would be saying Scott is the Mesiah and the horizon is bright, even if they just missed out on finals. If I was Scott I would use the backend half of the season as motivation to improve next season, recruit well at the draft and trade table and focus on the areas the list can improve off the field and all the good things that went well at the start of the season, when Essendon were difficult to play against. This season is completely different to last season IMO when Essendon were nearly always easy to play against. I would view it as a pass outcome based on pre-season expectations with many positives to draw from and areas to work on.

I'd be elated if I was wrong...I see he has great hands but for mine, no instincts...he's not super active on the lead and when he is he's leading to the same places as the other forwards, he isn't a great kick and isn't a factor when the ball is on the deck...as you say, he's only 22 so these traits could be developed but I don't see it...we wanted Georgiadies in that draft and I can see it in him already at the same age@@bromeotorres6964

Agreed with this. Not a Bombers fan the tone from the top, except maybe Brad Scott to an extent, reeks of accepting good participation rather than elite standards to winning.
