In the context of the passage it’s pretty clear that El Elyon and Yahweh are the same deity. The “gods” referred to is the Hebrew word Elohim which, when literally translated, is a word for any spiritual being. It is used to refer to God but not always. The mention of Yahweh’s portion is not talking about a separate deity. Notice it says “Yahweh’s OWN portion”. El Elyon took for Himself the nation of Israel. The author is boasting in the fact that they are God’s people.

The word Baal did eventually become associated with a specific deity but would not have been at the time of the David. The name Baal Perazim means “The Lord burst through”. This is incorrect. According to Jewish tradition, which is what’s in play here, the god of Israel has many names, one of which is el elyon and another of which is YHVH. The part of deuteronomy you reference appears in Christian bibles, but nowhere in the Torah. Deut. 32:8 as it appears in Torah says, “When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when He separated the children of men, He set the borders of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel.” Not a word about El or YHWH. That’s something that was made up and added by christians.

He has many descriptive titles (I Am that I Am, El Elyon, El Shaddai, etc.) but only ONE Name--that Name is YHWH. This is THE Name He revealed from the very beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation. This is THE Name our Messiah came in and proclaimed. As alluded to in earlier comments, the DSS have "according to the number of the children of God" (not Israel). Also, you need to read verse 9 where it says that Yahweh's portion was Israel. I tend to trust the DSS more than anything else. "Children of Israel" to me smacks of theologians getting in there and trying to "fix" a problem.

They believed in the Allâh but they ascribed minor deities beneath Him. Some claimed that some of the minor deities were children of Allâh. I disagree. "Elyon" means God or "high being"......synonymous to "Alien". El refers to the one on top. In most languages "The" refers to the one on top. El is a male version of a name/word. El Elyon is THE God.....aka Most God on High. I've seen a Hebrew Bible that has Yahweh's name as Yahweh Elyon. Elyon refers to one who ascends to a high region.

"Alien" comes from Latin "alius" meaning "different" or "foreign". "'Elyon" in Hebrew or "'iliyyun" in Arabic comes from the root "'ayn-lam" (عل) meaning "high". 'Elyon means uppermost/highest. Also, the Semitic languages are older than Latin.

The battle YHWH has with the Babylonian dragon in the book of Habakkuk, parallels the earlier Akkadian legend of the battle between Marduk and Tiamat. A thousand years before the Israelites existed, Sumerian legends were created that eventually found their way into Hebrew consciousness, and were included in the Hebrew Bible, altered to fit the mytho-historic narrative the 7th to 6th BCE century writers were trying to convey in their mission to unite the tribes of Israel.

You see, I studied in depth the religions in which he compared to Christianity. Somehow, I still overlooked the facts because he was very convincing. If you actually take the time to do research things in depth instead of accepting things at face value, you'll probably end up in a much better place. You see, now when people bring up things they learned from the video, I shut them down rather quickly. He either didn't have the facts or was deliberately lying about 95% of everything he said. With that being said, even if he was 100% accurate in the comparisons showing similar parallels between other religions and Christianity, it still doesn't mean anything. Similarity doesn't prove one wrong or right. Reminds me of Moshe and Aaron before Pharoah. When Yahweh performed a miracle through them, the Egyptian magicians were able to duplicate several of them. At a certain point, however, they were unable to continue duplicating Yahweh's miracles. Satan will have things that are very similar to God, but he has limits. You have a nose similar to mine. Great question 🤔! The Hebrew Israelite Patron Deity is known by several "Titles" 1) EL Shaddai (One who deals violently or destroys). 2)Yahawah/YHWH (Self existing one). 3)EL ELYON (Most High). These titles or names were used interchangeably. If you're not familiar with the Tower of Babel and Abraham's narrative in Genesis then I recommend you read them to understand why "Yahawah" is the Most High and EL Shaddai. According to the Ugaritic Text Ba'al is the Son of Dagon (The Phillistines Patron deity). The Amorites in the Levant demoted EL and called Ba'al the Most High. However, EL Shaddai called Abraham and made a covenant with him to deal with that situation in the future. As we know Abraham gives birth to Isaac, Isaac gives birth to Jacob(Israel) and Israel has 12 sons and becomes a nation. Israel defeats the Canaanites and restores Yahawah title to the Most High. According to near eastern culture, titles are tide to the "land" that is conquered. According to the "Divine Council" I believe that EL is the Higher power and manifest Himself as YAHAWAH his "right arm/avatar" to get things accomplished. Great stuff...Peace and blessings!

His son's name was "Khanoke" or "Chanukkah," How are those 'eyes'? All that sun worship in the Old Testament was the worship of Cain through his descendants. Also of note is the fact that many scholars have said that "Cohen", "Khun" and "Cowen" and a couple others are modern day versions of the name -. Cohen is known as "the priestly class." This is how it works... El Elyon means The Most High God in Semetic languages. It was not until Moses shows up in Midian that Yahweh reveals his name. If one has the time to study under Dr Mike Heisner, he can explain how the ancient pantheons work. The Most High God GAVE dominion of the 70 nations to the other gods He created in His pantheon... Known as the Elhoim, the Heavenly Hosts, and the Divine Counsel and the Sons of God. In all the other nations besides the Judea and Israel, Yahweh is still called the Most High God (as the demon possessed girl the book of Acts millennia later in the New Testament). Baal just means Lord, Baal Hadad was his actual name and he is one of the gods in the Divine Counsel. Yahushua, "One Like the Son of Man" in Daniel and "The Angel of the Lord" in Exodus , is the visible persona of Yahweh... The Burning Bush, the Pillar of Fire, the visitor of Abraham in the desert. The Father (YHWH) most definitely revealed His Name BEFORE Moshe. There should be a question mark at the end of Exodus 6:3. “And I appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as El Shaddai. And by My Name, YHWH, was I not known to them?” BIG punctuation error has led to this heinous doctrine of “two gods”. I don't think the evidence is good enough to conclude El and Yahweh were different deities. It's plausible but all the arguments I've heard rely on passages in the Old Testament, which was compiled by monotheists...who are not going to preserve passages that describe El and Yahweh as separate unless those passages are ambiguous. We need extrabiblical evidence, such as a stela with an inscription that explicitly says that Yahweh is one of El's sons.

At face value, i would say your theory about the Deut 32:8 passage hinges on the term 'son of God' meaning the godlike, or angelic sons of El. The first issue is that the nation of Israel is referred as a son of God in other contexts.
