Love hearing how people learn English after immigrating to the USA. Had an older family friend who learned by reading the Sears catalog (in the 1960s). It had pictures and and explanation of the pictures in English that he could gradually understand,

When you go to your 50th state be sure to spend a few days in Skagway. See the largest gold nugget. If it's still running, take the train to at least Lake Bennett. Catch the lunch there where they serve Moose. Stay on the train to Carcross, YK and then Whitehorse, YK.

Teddy Roosevelt National Park is one of the four that I've been to; however, I should say I've been through, it was 40 years ago and a friend and I were driving to another friend's wedding in Minneapolis. Didn't see all the sights from the interstate. Curiously, two of the national parks I've been to are volcanos.

Hope you can have videos to show the visits of Glacier NP (not far away from Yellowstone and you have visited there many years ago), Banff NP and Alaska. We plan to visit Alaska either next year or a year later, but I heard the road conditions is challenging while our van lack the backup tire.

Sorry you didn’t go to Medora just out the So Gate. It’s a neat little old west town, yes lots of touristy things, but they have a really neat old theater where a Teddy Roosevelt impersonator performs. He looks and sounds like Teddy and there isn’t a question he can not answer about Roosevelt. He and his wife walk the streets of town in period dress. True living history. Also surprised you didn’t see a heard of wild horses.

What's the deal with North Dakota and all the cannon balls??
@kenc2257
@kenc2257 3 жыл бұрын
I had to look it up...they are called "Cannonball Concretions"--the NPS.gov website has an image of the 2 cannonballs the Russos saw at the Theo Roosevelt Nat'l Park. Also, this paragraph: "When mineral rich water seeps down through the porous layers that make up the badlands, it can deposit those minerals in spaces or gaps in the sediments. The minerals act as a kind of glue, holding these sediments together, often forming around a core. As more and more layers are deposited, the concretion builds outward like a pearl, before being exposed by erosion."
