Love hearing how people learn English after immigrating to the USA. Had an older family friend who learned by reading the Sears catalog (in the 1960s). It had pictures and and explanation of the pictures in English that he could gradually understand,

Sorry you didn’t go to Medora just out the So Gate. It’s a neat little old west town, yes lots of touristy things, but they have a really neat old theater where a Teddy Roosevelt impersonator performs. He looks and sounds like Teddy and there isn’t a question he can not answer about Roosevelt. He and his wife walk the streets of town in period dress. True living history. Also surprised you didn’t see a heard of wild horses.

What's the deal with North Dakota and all the cannon balls??
@kenc22573 жыл бұрын
I had to look it up...they are called "Cannonball Concretions"--the NPS.gov website has an image of the 2 cannonballs the Russos saw at the Theo Roosevelt Nat'l Park. Also, this paragraph: "When mineral rich water seeps down through the porous layers that make up the badlands, it can deposit those minerals in spaces or gaps in the sediments. The minerals act as a kind of glue, holding these sediments together, often forming around a core. As more and more layers are deposited, the concretion builds outward like a pearl, before being exposed by erosion."
