@@andrewcrowley6331 Yeah, but it's boring. Big wolves aren't scary because they are natural, werewolves are scary because they are uncanny and unnatural looking. Nothing in real life looks like a werewolf, it's an unnatural combination of two apex predators, and that's terrifying. Just making it a big wolf doesn't really tick the terror box for people because you can just go to a zoo and see wolves, they are more cool than scary.

@@MattAlbie yeah I'm still waiting on an anthropomorphic werewolf movie to get the royal treatment. The *_Underworld_* series is the only IP so far to do anthropomorphic werewolves "right" IMO. And even then, they were 2nd fiddle characters. The "they look like regular wolves" troupe is overused, lazy-writing, and boring. And so is the "they all come from native American tribes" troupe. I'll give a nod to *_Underworld_* for at least trying something different. But I agree - Werewolves definitely deserve more love.

Both vampires and werewolves have kinda been lost behind the Hollywood filth for a while. Last good vampire movie I remember is Dracula untold (underappreciated imo, closest we've gotten to live action castlevania dracula). And werewolf movies almost felt lost to time.

@harristhesecondcomin vampires are just more flexible than werewolves. Feeds into the power fantasy more. Plus vampires tend to retain their sanity and intellect so you can make the vampire a more interactive character that's more expressive, or even outright villainous.

Comparing the upper limits of vampires in fiction to werewolves, yeah vampires are excessively more powerful with more diverse abilities. I mean castlevanias dracula is basically a dnd wizard. Then there's dracula from castlevania lords of shadow 2 which is just absurd, and dracula untolds dracula is also insanely powerful. Werewolves have kinda been creatively limited compared to vampires since forever. I'm not saying they're lame, just that you can do a lot more with vampires because vampires can do a lot more than werewolves.

Van Helsing's transformations were great for sure. Ripping the human skin off and being in straight up agony while turning was perfect. This looks to have some practical effects and makeup so hopefully it turns out decent. And "Underworld's" practical effect werewolves were so good they used it for all their movies lol. And I agree, even though some of the movies were laughable garbage, mostly the last one. 😂

its bad. the action scene sux. the storyline boring as hell. its like the supermoon makes the cumulative IQ drops down by 20 points where everyone react and behaves like a dumb fck. 4/10 not even worth it to be used as background noise. im not even paying attention, but one look on the screen, i can already expect whats going to happened next. sigh. what a bummer.
