You said the arrows are great for no spin throws due to being handle heavy. One of my favorite (non exactly a throwing knife) knives is the balisong, which I know is a very handle heavy knife. I believe you can openly possess a balisong in Kansas.

+Mohammed Harthi oh im sorry, your name's spelled like Xolette. My bad!! What a huge disappointment

No worries! My focus is not in how to throw knives in a combative scenario, nor do I recommend throwing knives in such a scenario and there are many others that would argue the same. But there are other KZbinrs that have that focus. Check out TheCombat KnifeThrower and One Sharp Marriage. Also, Adam Celadin has a great video on his channel showing how throwing knives can be used in self defense as more of a distraction and secondary to more successful self defense techniques.
+Xolette Thank you so much, I appreciate it and I also find it really exciting how I'm talking to you(like the real you) this must be a dream!!

Still haven't got my Warner knives yet but I'm working on it. i've had enough time to play with my flying steel and bat wing knives and my verdict is the flying steel ROCK!!! The slim Jim I found the size and weight a little intimidating at first but with very little practice I was able to get great distance and no spin and such power it pierced the back of the archery target bored I'm using. You know that spongy stuff. I had to stop using wooden targets. The neighbours keep complaing😂

Did I catch that right. Handle heavy is better for No Spin? I am still learning the basic fundamental of knife throwing and styles of throwing, and then I will pick up my first real set of Throwing knives....Thanks for the Vid Xolette....nice Knives.
@Xolette9 жыл бұрын
+iconforu2c Yes, I believe so. Some of the longest distance throws I've seen were of long spikes with taped up handles. But it takes awhile to get used to. You can always by a neutrally weighted knife (most are pretty much neutrally weighted if it doesn't have a handle) and add tape to make it more handle heavy. Check out my videos "Best Beginner Projectile" and "How to Throw Spikes". At the end of the 2nd video is a test I did between a handle heavy spike and a normal one, and you can see how the flight path differs. Good luck!
@iconforu2c9 жыл бұрын
Xolette Thanks and I will check out the videos. After Christmas this year I am going to buy a "decent" beginners (from one of your other videos I watched) set of throwers, I ask about the spin as "no" spin has more logic to me. I think starting with a spin with just frustrate me to much so that's why i'm going to start with no spin....again thanks.

Try throwing by the point and you can adjust if they dont stick. I started with those bodyguard knives Like everybody thinks kostner threw it was his stunt double but those are a bitch by the handle. And tear up even massive targets. The guy who makes those 3 or 5 throwing knives makes his own target too.
@snlconner9 жыл бұрын
Is that another end grain target? I just started building one for my son. He asked for some throwing knives (he's 6 :-) ) we went to goodwill and got 100 butter knives for $5 lol
@Xolette9 жыл бұрын
+Steven Conner Yes, I have a video building it, but didn't like how it turned out. It works... but it's really important that there are no gaps between the blocks. Use shims if necessary to push them together. That's a good deal and I think a good age to start teaching your son! Just make sure he wears eye protection, closed-toe shoes, and stands at an angle from the target to avoid direct ricochets!
@snlconner9 жыл бұрын
+Xolette I think we've learned much of that already just from watching. ;-) seriously though, it's great advice. The angle thing makes a lot of sense especially for him since he didn't have the arm strength to really penetrate the long grain target we have set up for now. would you still use wood glue?
@Xolette9 жыл бұрын
+Steven Conner Glad the tips help! I wouldn't, although, the benefits of wood glue are that you can get a tight fit (with new blocks) and might not need an backboard, especially if you're throwing small knives like the butter knives you mentioned. But, one of the great things about an end grain target is the ease you should be able to replace blocks and you can't do that using wood glue. My mistake when building my current target is that I layered old blocks with new. When you do that, it's advised you soak all the blocks in water for a day and then squeeze them together for a tight fit. Because there were gaps in my target, some of the wood blocks split and didn't "broom". Now I know that a tight fit. no gaps, is essential for a long lasting target. Anyways, good luck with it and to your son as well!
