I think Par Gerell is not bad. I think that older players ought to learn from him. Because, in the case that one's footwork is not fast enough, players like Par Gerelll come in few seconds late, but they can make use of their sidespin to overwhelm their opponents. Do notice that sometimes Schlager has difficulties handling the curling of the sidespin if he is too slow?

@kaikaz Yes but i think you should warn the player before giving the point to his opponent. He suddenly out of nowhere said "Fault". Thats odd, hes been doing the same serve all the game. Apart of that notice Schlager at 0:20 is doing the same "mistake" throwing the ball to him at greater angle. Compare and comment. I really can't understand wow he took that out of nowhere decision. Btw i'm with Schlager :P

Actually I think it's a legit call. If you look at his left hand, he has his fist closed around the ball and the facing downwards when he tosses it, even though the rules clearly state that the palm must be open and facing upwards.

Thumbs up if you think that referee is talking horse-shit at 1:27. He did the same service as seen at 1:20. By the way notice his next serve is an even worse toss.

Yes, going strictly by the rules most services in this match are illegal... If you are going to fault them, then fault them all, not one random. The rules should be clearer (allowing more freedom in my opinion) leaving less to referees decision. Well, whatever!

Par is playing a useless game... instead of being forced to back up he backs up even on the offensive. His game is beautiful but stepping back 20 feet all the time isn't going to work out for him. Shlager is well over 30 and Par is in his early 20's. Atm, he's still losing to a 40 year old persson in Sweden. In this match Shlager clearly stands only mid range from the table and makes Par gerell back up. If Gerell continues his trend Sweden will never make their comeback. Five stars.
