Sure, "Jerries" or "Jerry" was slang back in WWII to Germans but Jerry is just an ordinary name if you take it out of context. I don't think the show, Tom and Jerry had to do anything with the war. Sure, most cartoons made during those times were propaganda but I don't think Tom and Jerry was specifically used for that reason. I'm pretty sure it's just an ordinary cartoon at the time. It could also be symbolism or just conflict but it wasn't obvious, plus, it doesn't make sense to name the protagonist- who is usually a good guy- a reference to a bad name. Tom and Jerry is just a funny cartoon about a cat and a mouse conatantly fighting over eachother. Although in this case here with Werner Werman, the nickname "Jerry" is pretty fitting- even though Werman is more WWI than WWII because of the pickelhaube- than comparing him to Jerry from tom in Jerry even though their cleverness and tricks are practically the same, personality wise? Ehh not really. They're both teasers, schadenfreude or in other words, epicaricacy but other than that, I'd say other traits stray far.

I made up some episode plots for the DLC bosses: Showdown at high moo: the cups and Elder Kettle decided to go to a dude ranch for some rootin’ tootin’ fun. But the cups soon found out that the owner of the ranch, Esther Winchester, is actually a western style outlaw who’s after the bounty the Devil placed on Cuphead. Mob the floor with you: Miss Chalice persuades Cuphead and Mugman into hanging out at a 20s style juice bar with her. However when they found out that it’s front for shady mob business, they have to escape the clutches of the boss and his crew that leave no witnesses whatsoever. A Howling Ace in the hole: When the cups decided to play around in a hangar owned by the ruthless Howling Aces, the dogfighters decided to put them in their training camp in order to enforce character into them. But the camp is more like a cruel prison and the drills are ruff! The cups simply need to get out of there before the aces literally work them to the bone. We’re not a-gnome: The cups and Chalice decided to explore one of Inkwell Isles’ mountains, but when they accidentally disturbed the local gnomes’ mining, they incurred the wrath of Glumstone, the guardian of the mountain, and he doesn’t take kindly to those who make him mad. More then you can bake: in desperate need for cash, Cuphead and Mugman decided to work part time at Chef Saltbaker’s bakery, but the chef has a low tolerance for employees messing up or eating the merchandise. the cups better shape up and be strong if they want to make some dough and live to spend it.
