I hope Wes taught his children the Cherokee language. The Native Americans have lost so much, it would be a tragedy to lose their languages, too. Apparently, there are some that have already lost it due to the elders dying and none of the younger generation being taught, or perhaps being interested. I applaud Wes for his steadfast activism.
@PhoenixProdLLC2 жыл бұрын
The Cherokee were smart enough to create a syllabury for the language so they're not suffering in that regard like some of the other 5,000 tribes in the country who never had any written language. MANY linguists have been working throughout the country to help create a written language for those who want it,.

First, Jerry Skinner, I hope you and yours, had a great holiday season and your new year is blessed. Well, this was a first for me, watching your videos about famous people. This is the first time you featured someone that wasn't already dead! Wes Studi is now well known in the film industry and throughout NDN circles. I hope Wes will have the time to make other movies. He's done a lot to bring awareness to the condition of the NDN peoples. He also starred in a PBS production about the Cherokee. Adding that to his desire to make folks aware that while America has progressed and grown and prospered, many of the original tribes of NDNs have not.

I've really enjoyed his performances in the movies I have seen him in. I think he brings a certain authenticity to the roles as a true Native American. If they ever make a movie about the USS Johnston DD-557 I can't think of anyone better to play the Captain than Wes Studi. LCDR Evans (CO of Johnston) was also a Native American and was posthumously awarded the medal of honor for his actions in the battle of Samar Straights. FLY NAVY!!!
