The little match stick girl is actually about a poor orphan who sold matches to make a living and one day in the winter time it's really cold at night so she keeps lighting the matches she has to sell to keep her warm and each time she lights one she imagines(?) she has food, shelter, a family etc. basically at the end she runs out of matches falls asleep and freezes to death 💀

I know it's way too late to answer, but probably it was that type of history that wanted to increase empathy during certain periods of history. Like, people used to think that poor and homeless people were dying on the streets because they deserved it, didn't matter the reasons behind it. Maybe it was also a way to open people's eyes to the reality of so many children being in really bad conditions just for being born, just like the match stick girl and many times even worse :( Sorry if I have misspellings or if something isn't understandable ;; I'm not fluent.

Yes jungkook is an amazing artist, and he actually gets that from his family. His dad is really good at drawing, and I remember seeing a portrait his dad drew of jungkook. The portrait looked so realistic and was very impressive. Jungkook’s brother does more digital art, and I believe he has an Instagram account where you can see some of his art. His family is very talented, and that definitely plays a part in why jungkook is so gifted.

For those of you who don't know. There's different dialects in different Korean provinces. It's called satoori and if like the English equivalent of an accent. Based on where you're from, your sentence intonation could climb up or down. That's why at 5:01 Jimin was messing around with the sentence in satoori 😂

Korean webcomics are called Manhwa and they are really, really popular all over the world. Manhwa's have all kind of genre like manga and they are fully colored with amazing graphics. BTS even have their own webtoon called "Save me" which is related to the Bangtan Universe and "7 fates CHAKHO" which started recently and a supernatural action webcomic.

Yes, they do have their own form of manga in S.Korea. They also have webtoons there as well. It's called manhwa and it's really big there. It's colored and done in long strips which makes it different from manga. One of the most popular manhwa is Solo Leveling. It's popular worldwide as well.

I think the message from "the little match girl" is either "have compassion and be charitable", because the girl's suffering is a result of her dad's cruelty and the passerby's apathy; or "there is hope and happiness even in suffering", since the little girl died in warmth and happiness despite her misery. I used to think this is a very sad story, but as I grew up I realized this could be considered a happy ending for the little girl, because surviving means she would continue to be abused by her dad, while dying means she is now in the warm and loving embrace of her grandmother. (at least in the version I read, in the end there is an illustration of her grandmother welcoming her in heaven.)

Yeah the little match girl is really a sad story for kids. It was the first English children's story that I read when I was in elementary school because English is not my first language, I read it because the English teacher gave me the task to do story telling in front of my class. And after reading that story, I cried a lot😭 but I still chose that story for my speaking test🥲

Funnily enough, the story is not actually an English story. It was written by Danish poet and author H. C. Andersen who also wrote The little mermaid, The ugly duckling, The Snow Queen, The Emperor's New Clothes, Thumbelina, and a bunch more fairytales. H. C Andersen is officially recognized as a National Treasure here in Denmark. :)

The moral in “The little Match girl”: the world sometimes isn’t fair. She was poor orphan girl and tried to work as a match seller. She worked hard but didn’t made it at the end. She had dreams about loving family, cosy home and delicious food. At the end she chose “the dream world” where she’s happy and well-fed instead of a cruel reality. Sometimes people just can’t find strength to live and we shouldn’t judge them.

5:20 You guys are correct! I like how quick on your feet you both are 😁 South Korea has dialects depending on the region you're from! None of the BTS members are from Seoul, aka the capital city where the way of speaking is very clear and "modernized", so they all have different dialects (with certain slangs and intonations). Someone correct me on this, but only Jin and RM live somewhat closer to Seoul so they don't have as distinct of an accent. J-Hope is from Jeolla-do Province, where the dialect sounds friendly and sing-songy to foreign ears. Which is hilariously fitting for him 🤣 Meanwhile, Jimin and Jungkook are both from Busan where the stereotype for men is very masculine and confident, and you will hear these two speak like that unconsciously or as a joke! (You can hear their Busan accents here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5iQqqGXqMZqmNk ). As for V and Suga, they're both from Daegu, which is (probably incorrectly) dubbed as "the hood of South Korea" - although it IS true that these two are the ones who are the most street-smart, and also the ones who started out very poor (all of them were honestly). Daegu men are stereotypically very straight-forward and abrasive, and it manifests in how savage these two can be at times (Savage Taehyung here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXe5e3h9j5V1qsk) 😎 Lastly: soulmates-Vmin playing around with their accents and reminiscing on their early school days: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZ7FdXZmiKqIbrM 💜

Theres the little girl and she keeps lighting a match to keep herself warm in the cold and every time she lights a match she sees a happy family, and then she runs out of matches and freezes to death.
