Well done as always!! Due to the shot through the door, the hard side walls weren’t necessary, they could have been soft goods just to control the light. My biggest problem is in not justifying the time kill. In fact, looking at the watch HIGHLIGHTED it! As any illusionist knows, there is always a time kill in most illusions when the assistant must get from one location to another before the reveal. In telling a good story, you need to do something to take the heat off this time kill with business that helps tell the story to misdirect from the stall. This just looked like he was killing time while waiting on something we didn’t know about to happen. Magic theory always helps tell a better story.

Nice! You could do one with that room that's warped in perspective to make it look you're smaller when you're on one side. Everyone knows that one, but maybe there is a novel way to use it for a magic trick? Like put people in boxes and replace the box with smaller boxes and the person inside becomes smaller XD

@TurtleBeoulve3 жыл бұрын
Really think this would have worked better with a reason for Chris to be opening the door multiple times. A cat/mouse situation would have sold this much better. Should have had one of the guys steal Chris's hat or something and escape through the door only to have the scene switch with the door opens. That would have given Chris a reason to close the door multiple times in exasperation.

Dude, I saw all the episodes the final comes , I think... I feel a bit sad about it, only 10 episodes? We need more! And of course I have been here around Chris when he was at 700.000 subs, somewhere there. Maybe 500.000? I don't even remember! And even when you did gags and tricks on the beach, you owe me an X-ray prank part 2 on a beach! When you did the first BOB and made Kristen's channel. We are around , we saw everything on your channels :D Edit: Remember Chris, you owe us a Omegle magic video! You asked for 43k likes, you got 50k in a week, and now you are above!

@johnmullen18893 жыл бұрын
I thought so. It smacked of timing. Waiting for something to change behind the door.
@k0lpA3 жыл бұрын
@@johnmullen1889 I mean, unless it was a green screen, it had to be something like this right ? Since a green screen wouldnt be magic.. there was really only 1 or 2 ways they could do this.. either the room and all its objects were props that can easily be pulled out somehow or it was different rooms. It's kinda like magicians who do quick clothes change, even tho we can't see any hints at all when performed by the most skilled, in the majority of acts, its obvious that they have multiple layers of clothes and just remove a layer each time they change... regardless of the ingenious trick-clothes that makes it possible to do it so fast there's really not many ways to do it.

I know these ideas aren't really feasible with shooting constraints but maybe it would have been better if chris had some sort of remote or fiddled with controls like the door in howls moving castle or perhaps have him be in like "an elevator" styled set to justify the waiting. Sorry i don't mean to be critical because i know you guys worked hard and its a great show but when he kept checking his watch it really made it clear that he was just killing time.

I think I’m missing something. Seems like this effect could be generated with a portable green screen for the first three shots and then remove the green screen for the run through the door, no? The green/screen option would be defeated if you physically interacted with the far-room actors (e.g., shower guy throws soap at you).

In my opinion, the problem with all your Big Trick Energy sequences is that, if you weren't here telling us "look ! it's amazing", well nobody would notice them. You should get some inspiration from people like Michel Gondry, who makes sequences that are genuinely jaw-dropping by themselves, the making-of only being like the cherry on the cake (and you WANT to see the making-of because of the wow effect of the sequence you've seen).
