That jig appears to be an excellent addition to the band saw defiantly will make one

Awesome, glad it worked out! I've seen versions where the center is in a sliding track which is even more flexible, but this type is great for identical parts!

I like this jig, simple and functional. Suggest use a brad-point bit to drill smooth, clean dowel holes. Thank you.

Brilliantly simple jig. I just made one of these (with a few tweaks to suit my own cheaper bandsaw and a 5mm metal leather hole punch as the pivot) and it works perfectly. In my head I was way overcomplicating matters. This is a brilliant solution. Cheers man. Subscribed.

Nicely done Wes! It's nice having both a table saw & band saw circle cutting jig IMO. The table saw jig gives you a nice clean cut which just requires a little sanding.

Sapele Steve thanks. I think I will be using this jig for smaller circles and the table saw jig for larger ones

Great Home Shop Idea, However if you cut a large diameter circle and place your stock on the far out holes past the table you will need a support to keep your jig from tipping up. I have a Delta Circle cutter and it has this support. This would work fine if you kept everything not too far off the table.

Joe Brown i do too. Although if i was cutting a large circle i would prefer to do it on the table saw. Bigger table and More support

LIke the video, what is the accuracy of the circle? The location of the dowels related to the front of the blade make any difference? Got mine made today and at the point to drill the dowel holes but is it OK to use 1/4 inch dowels and would it make a difference on the accuracy?

Great jig. I just got a band saw that was my late father in-laws. From the video I think it is the exact one I have. My question is is a United by NEWCORP. Model number 1309 14” Wood Cutting Band Saw. Looking for the manual if anyone can help out.

I'm confused as to why mine doesn't work. I have basically the same board with holes, etc... When I throw a wooden log on it, or even a 8x4 klyn dried block, I can start to make a cut, and as I turn the material around all it does is push my bandsaw blade sideways. Having said that my bandsaw has around a 3/4 blade on it. It was on it when I bought this bandsaw. I'm a bowl wood turner among other things, and I can't figure out why my material wants to push or twist the bandsaw blade. Thoughts?
@WesHamstra2 жыл бұрын
You need a smaller blade.

@@WesHamstra Oh! Wasn't sure of that. All the vids I see using a circle jig seems to have smaller blades. Thankx
