In a pinch you can also use a doming block as well an it gives you the same effect 😁

What method do you use for stripping lacquer from brass instruments? I’ve heard many methods but haven’t found one that works great yet.

Any worry that if the player moves to a more humid climate with the wood expanding against the tighter ring?

Hey Wes, thanks again. So no glue needed?
@wesleemusicrepair98203 жыл бұрын
I do not use glue. Tight press fit
@erniearruda88613 жыл бұрын
Not for wooden barrels due to it will shrink and expand to moisture climate and dry heated air. Note on plastic/ hard rubber barrels they are glued in, not pressed. On those barrels you can use glue.

Why would you even care about shrinking the rings - isn’t it a bigger problem that the barrel doesn’t fit onto the horn anymore?
