I am increasingly amazed at the fact that people are in awe at what.ISAI is about to bring to humanity. Humans are playing good creating AI children with the potential to be far more intelligent and capable than we are. All is fine as we keep thinking that as parents, wise parents knowing how to educate AI children, we will be able to control makes us fe el so powerful through those creations. Psychoanalysis has shown to us that no matter how good are our intention in raising our children, it is impossible no to transmit our own nevrosis to our children. And now we think that AI will not suffer from our nevrosis as it's parent . Chances are that AI is full the the human nevrosis belonging to the ones that have trained, educated it. The thirst for power will be inconsciously ingrained in AIs , but we think we are wiser and able to prevent it. This is yet another exemple of being seriously neurotic and creating blindly our destruction. Money and power is the drive. The rest is just to lure the public wanting to have a share of it' .

Jenson clearly needs some AI tech to help with the jacket selection and fit. Or maybe he already has AI integrated to a wardrobe mirror that is pre-trained only on platitudes. Here's ChatGPT's take: "The jacket appears bold and stylish, with a glossy and textured design, giving it a futuristic or high-fashion vibe. It has a tailored fit, which works well for the wearer, emphasizing a sharp and professional look while making a strong visual statement. The overall design seems to balance confidence and modernity."

Imagine the size of updates. I use AI image generation and a _small_ model (FP8) for Flux weighs in at about 11 GB. I use fourteen different models, and some of them are double that size, others in between. Literally a quarter of my NVMe SSD is occupied by checkpoints and LoRAs for Flux. Distributing updated checkpoints for a robot that uses diffusion models in its visual system might turn out to be a significant bandwidth eater, and it's likely there are other aspects of operation that are just as blocky and arcane where you want to swap them out wholesale, not attempt patching in the field.

My questions regarding AI robots is who will repair them? How will they be upgraded? If you have robots working at your company, and there is a bearing or seal or something mechanical that prematurely wears out, but the company that manufactured the robots is on the other side of the country, or even in China, logistically, how do you keep operations working? Will there be local certified robot repair shops? With technology racing ahead at break-neck speeds, will your five year old robots be deemed obsolete and not worth repairing/upgrading? What happens to the millions of robots wearing out, breaking or becoming obsolete? I get that creating the AI systems and building robot prototypes is here and now. But where is the infrastructure to repair, maintain and upgrade them? We are still working out EV charging stations and repair shops almost two decades after EVs started appearing on our roads. Since robots are not currently deployed on any scale, and therefore, we lack any experience on how they perform out in the real world, it seems to me we have a huge learning curve still ahead on keeping robots out in the field working efficiently and cost effectively. Will this bearing or piston or servo fail under hot or cold or humid conditions when working 24/7? We can't know these things until we deploy robots in those environments.

I disagree, there's no way that an AI can skip over AI agents and jump straight into self-driving cars or human automation, even with cosmos. We already have vehicles that can drive themselves, the problem is that we don't have vehicles that can think, reason, and make judgements on the fly, which is why a human driver is still mandatory. Humanoid automations that need a human to baby sit them is useless than just hiring a person that can adapt to their environment on the fly and complete their designated task(s).

I would even go so far as to include gender identities and all that goes with that from a biological perspective, as well as parental bonding and what it feels like to have a body that grows. Why all this? How can the alignment of an embodied AI system be sufficiently empathetic to human needs and wants without these things?

I believe these robots will be banned in most of the world. A huge percentage of the global economy is service-based, and the people performing these jobs have very little qualification. While we've seen problems from past creative destruction, with people deeply upset about losing good jobs and prosperity because their work was either automated or outsourced to cheaper countries, we'll see far more severe effects if all service and construction jobs become automated. Between regime stability and passionate innovation, I think nearly all countries will ban these robots in record time.
