So loved this. That joyous singing in the midst of destruction was poignant. These people are amazing. The repeated word "beautiful" in their singing is the reflection of their own within.

We watched this a few months back and today we visited this church and we kept thinking we had already been there. We looked through pictures and videos on our phone and finally We then realized it was from your wonderful video. 🤷🏻♀️ Thanks for sharing. It looks almost the same but the piano is missing now. Great little town!

Wow! This was a wonderful trip. It saddens me that the church is still in poor shape, but the resilience of this little community is astounding. A magical little place! Thanks for coming back to let me know! Hope your trip was fantastic! 🧡💛

This really spoked to my heart ❤️ and soul. Joy in the midst of destruction. This is what I needed. Thank you. The Star 🌟!!! There was way too much focus on Santa and presents this year as I spent it with my grand kiddos. What was missing for me and others that may not even realize it was Jesus and the true reason we are celebrating the season. Also I have spent last couple years celebrating Christmas with folks down on their luck and with homeless. To me that was so much more fun, rewarding and touching than being circled with Santa, presents, and family. Very humbling to help and serve others. Wishing all love, peace, joy, abundance, and gratitude. Thanks for all you do Wes. Just love watching your other channel and now glad to find you here. Thank you for sharing!

Just realized you're from Pensacola!! Hubby's family used to have their reunions on Perdido Key every year, until Hurrican Ivan wiped out the condo at which we'd stay! We went into Pensacola for grocery shopping and entertainment. It's a cool town!

Wes I would love to hear how you booked this Holiday... was the boat a charter?
@WesShoemaker5 жыл бұрын
Kathy, it was a trip we had been talking about as a friend group for almost a decade and we decided to just finally take the plunge. One of our dearest friends just happens to have been a sailing instructor in the past, so he’d done the trip a few times and sort of knew the ropes. We chartered the boat through Conch Charters. Because we had a certified captain on board, we didn’t have to hire a captain. It was bliss. I’m ready to go straight back! 😜

So sorry for the hardship your beautiful islands and you endured. It is more difficult for the islands to recover since it is challenging to get supplies for rebuilding there. I am in Houston so I understand the destructive storms. But here, we have access to our needs, even if it is coming in from other states. Hope you are doing better now. God bless you.❤
