LOVE your tutorials. Clear, fluid, stylish, articulate, eloquent. You break it down in a way I've not seen = superb. Video and audio quality 100% and your camera operator deserves a gold medal too. THANK YOU. ( I'm not even a WCS dancer - but I might be soon....)

Pleasure meeting Anthony, Rose and Clarissa at Guitars and Cadillacs Fort Worth for your recent 2021 boot camp. It was a great learning experience. If you as a student haven't checked out X Dance University yet, give it a look. Tremendous teaching tool at a very reasonable price!

Great detail and quality instruction! Your “section” method makes more sense to me. It simplifies everything. Also, we have been taught that the leader walks back in count 1 maybe even into count 2 but here I noticed the leader is barely moving back and off to the side. This not only looks better and the follower has less distance to travel. But where was the Stalker whip? LOL.
@countrydancex3 жыл бұрын
So glad you enjoyed it! Stepping back on one is perfectly valid. Ultimately, there is no right or wrong… only better or worse (and those two words are based solely in opinion). We dance the stalker whip often, but if we were to try to include all of the whip variations in one video, we’d still be filming this one haha

Hi thanks for your video from lindy and blues I'm approaching wcs, in this case i suggest u to call them section abc, otherwise could be confused with counts. Bye

Another nice beautiful dance steps & turns. You both are very professional at that. I don't think anyone can really compare too you guys steps. The lady that danced last week she was very awesome with her dance moves.Are there certain names for each dances that are performed weekly?🤗
@countrydancex3 жыл бұрын
You’re sweet! Adia is amazing too. When you ask about names for each dance, did you mean like the line dance from last week? If so, yes each dance typically has a name associated with it. If you’re talking about the partner dances like this video, then yes too. Our videos will generally list the dance style in the title. This is West Coast Swing
@beverlysmith60313 жыл бұрын
@@countrydancex Thank you😉. Yes adia was super great. I was pertaining too all the dances from the beginning until now. They all have different dance names? I'm excited too see the new dance video next week. You both have a blessed day. Keep on doing those marvelous dances🤩

I have a question, here I am told that it is common for WCS to constantly trade Partners? Is this true?
@countrydancex4 ай бұрын
By “trade partners”, do you mean dancing with multiple people socially? If so, yes. Social dancing is an activity that people use to socialize. Dancing isn’t something that is always romantic

i had a hard time executing a J hook in away that gave my partner the right clue to my intentions. I was frustrated because she wouldn't turn on count 4 no matter how intentional i was with the J hook. i learned that if just before executing the J hook i could rotate my hand just a few degrees clockwise like a prep, and then j hook...my partners suddenly started responding how i intended. now I'm able to whip even the least experienced follower and it's pretty effortless.

Time signatures, most confusing. Music start on count (beat) what the ear hears??
@countrydancex3 жыл бұрын
Basically, in WCS, everything is done in increments of 2 beats of music. There is a “1 count” every odd count (down beat)
