Oh man, West Edmonton Mall was my favourite place on earth when I was a kid. This was back when it was actually a destination... I miss Fantasyland, and the submarines, and Bourbon Street, and that air of Eighties brass-and-glass faux-opulence.

WOW- Bourbon Street looked different back then. I first came to the mall in the late '90s, and it didn't even look like that then. Absolutely nothing looks like New Orleans there now- it looks NICE, but it has zero theming, and is full of chain restaurants now. Even the Old Spaghetti Factory has turned into a generic-looking place instead of what it once was.

Jabroniville yeah for fear the themed look would look tacky, but honestly all the boring and dull look of “ modern” style is boring. The story land valley zoo in Edmonton used to look very fairytale and geared towards kids now all the lovely nursery rhyme character statues all gone.

The music used at the end of the video was also used for 'Great Movies' on ASN in the early-90s. =B

Yeah, he was weirdly equivocal in that whole statement... "As long as it's relatively unirritating it's mostly pretty good for them"... uh...

What happened to all those fountains and trees are they still there?

+longboardguy Long replaced by more sedate and boring attractions in the name of a more watered down modern look.

The trees can be found near the old target area I don't think fountains can't be found

Drivenout they have to go with the time, or else west edmonton mall would look outdated and it wouldn’t be as popular

Man things hane changed today, but I sure enjoyed West Ed most of the time I was there. I really enjoyed the video by the way, it's awesome!!!!
