She's absolutely incredible in this- she gives the role so much character! Her voice is stunning! Would love to see her opposite Ramin Karimloo or Geronimo Rauch (my personal favourite Phantom's).

There are so many things I love about Celinde Schoenmaker's portrayal of Christine. One is that she looks a lot like Christina Nilsson, the 19th-century soprano Christine Daae was based on. It's so cool.

Me too. It's the total package. Awesome story (with danger, romance, heartbreak/redemption, mystery, thanks to good ol' Gaston Leroux)...the music is SO catchy and dramatic/beautiful at the same time, the (original) staging is so cool with the boat, candles. It's just the perfect thing. Like someone had said, the original story with its musical theme and melodrama was begging for something like this and this musical does it right. I feel like it's just the perfect mix of so many things. A tiny part of me often feels sad/bittersweet that Gaston Leroux never got to see what his weird little serialized novel would become

Saw this very cast 5 times and honestly they are perfect. Ben delivers an unprecedented performance, he adds this crazy part to the character which will stick to your brain for weeks, trust me , he is perfect! and Celinde is amazing, and with that highest note nailed effortlessly! best cast since ramin and Sierra:)

@@annabelden yes, I agree. Natural lighting, close up camera shots, and makeup aren't a good match...especially when dealing with stage makeup. Its applied much heavier than you would normally apply makeup, so that the audience can see their facial expressions in the dimmer lighting of a concert hall or theater.

I don't like how this Christine sings the word Phantom. She doesn't open her mouth or throat. She instead tightens the note. As someone taught to sing very openly, I find her technique improper. It could be damaging to sing that way.

I may have something with the fact that she isn't english and maybe learning how to sing in dutch isn't the same as in english ? The sounds are not the same at all :) But I find her still really great ^^

there's something a little off. Ben is far too "pop" for the role. The phantom is a legit role... not someone who's done pop shows.
