Start of the World Cup semi-final football match between Russia and Federal Republic of Germany. SV. The two captains exchange flags. SV. German supporters. LV. Germany kick off kicking right to left. LV. Germany attack but Yashin punches clear. LV. Russia attacking. Sabo with the ball, but he is beaten by Schulz. LV. Pan, Russia attacks again. The ball is headed around in Germany's goal area. Then the ball goes to Khusainov who centres, and Malofeev heads over the bar. SV. Crowd applaud. LV. Russia attack again. Chislenko tries a shot but Tilkowsky collects easily. LV. Russian supporters. GV. Germany attacks. The ball is centred from right. Yashin runs out and punches clear. The ball goes to German player who tries another shot and Yashin makes another great save. LV. Germany continues attack. Yashin runs out, dives at the feet of Schulz. The ball rolls clear and several players pounce on it but Yashin recovers and smothers the ball. GV. Crowd. GV. Germany attack again. The ball comes to Held who turns and hits a first time shot but Yashin is there and the ball bounces clear. GV. Helmut Haller fires in a shot and beats Yashin. GV. Crowd cheering at half time. GV. Russia attacks in the second half but get nowhere and Germany start to move up field. LV. The ball goes to Held who runs down the middle but he goes too far and runs over the line. GV. Midfield play. LV. Russia attacking again. Sabo centres the ball. It is headed clear by a defender. LV. Another Russian forward heads just over the bar. LV. Pan, the Germans passing the ball up field. It goes to Franz Beckenbauer. He comes forward and shoots. GV. Pan as the ball goes into the net for Germany's second goal. LV. German players congratulate Beckenbauer. GV. Russia attack. Anatoly Banishevsky tries a shot. LV. As the shot goes just past the post. GV. Russia attacks. The ball is centred from the right. Tilkowsky can't hold the ball and he drops it. Porkujan pounces on the ball and pushes it into the net for Russia's goal. Pan with the Russian players as they run back. LV. As referee blows the whistle for full time. GV. German crowd jubilant. GV. As the German team leave the field. Final score Germany 2, Russia 1.
